A/C problem

Hi, I have a 1999 Lapalma, and am full time. Last night we had a lightning strike near ( less than 200 feet) us. Now this morning we can't get the front AC unit to work. I checked all? fuses in fuse panel in bedroom and in panel in bay behind drivers front wheel. All were ok. All other appliances seem to work except the front AC unit. The Duo-Therm controller does NOT seem to be working, my wife turned it to heat and cranked temp all the way. Nothing happened. I can't find a reset on anything , and don't know where to go next. Any advice will be welcomed. Thanks!

try resetting the circuit breaker. even if it looks like it's ON, turn it off then back on.

Reset the Duo-Therm, that will re-search your system for ACs, furnace etc. If however the Duo can 'see' the AC and the furnace, that may not do anything. The lightning could have fried the controller board. I suppose it could have taken out the capacitor(s).

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I would try the factory reset on the thermostat. Which thermostat do you have?

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I have found that even IF fuses look good, just like the breaker looking good needs to be flipped, swap fuses to see if it's that
