Hi Everyone,

I'm having problems with my front A/C Heat pump, Dometic Duo Therm Model # 630035.311

Sometimes it blows cold air and sometimes not, I took the outside roof cover off and the coil off the compressor had about 1/4" of ice on it. Water was splashing inside on the floor below the main vent under the squirrel cage fan but it was producing cold air. I shut the unit down and let the ice melt then restarted, but now the air is just cool, not cold.

The back bedroom A/C is working fine, when I removed the cover from it there was a slight dusting of frost but no where near as much as the front.

I'm wondering if the refrigerant may need topping up!

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thank You

I agree that ice on the coils is usually a good indication of being low on freon. Those units also have a temp probe that is stuck into the coils and is meant to stop freeze ups. You can usually see it if you look up at the coils from the bottom. maybe it has fallen out. Check and see if you can see it on the good unit.

Thanks for the advice Mike,

Is the probe that your referring to visible in these Pics?

No, I have seen it when looking up from inside the MH stuck in between the coils.
