Hi all I have kinda of a dumb question, First off I have a 96 HR endeavor LE, I had to have some work done this past week. When I got her home I decided to check things out, I noticed that there were only two house batteries in the pull out try.

? is shouldn't there be four? When we bought this a year ago the guy said he had to buy new ones so I didn't even think to check. They do look new, should I go out and buy another pair?

Thanks

RUNDLC,

Some coaches have room for additional batteries but do not come standard with them. I can't answers if yours originally had four but you can certainly add two more batteries.

Are you sure you are talking about the house and not the chassis batteries. Mine only has two chassis batteries but there is some extra room in the tray.

Bob

It's possible there could have been four 6 volt batteries that were replaced by two 12 volts. If the guy knew he was selling it soon this may have been a cost thing for him.

House batteries should be 6 volt. Coach or engine should be 12 volt. If you have room you can add 2 more 6 volt and have more reserve power for your house. Just be sure to wire them correctly or you will have a serious problem. Many web sites tell you how to do this.

This is how mine are set up and wired. Negative posts are at the front left of each 6 Volt battery

Hi RUNDLC,
Do not purchase additional batteries unless you need them. 4 batteries gives you the same amount of power as two batteries. 4 batteries will give you the power for a longer period of time.

The question for you to answer is have you been getting along fine with the 2 batteries you have? If the answer is yes, then keep the $s in your pocket. If you have needed power for more time than your current batteries would provide, 2 additional batteries would be of benefit.

If you decide to purchase additional batteries, have the two you have now checked out to ensure they are performing a peak power. Then purchase 2 additional batteries of the same size, type and power output. You'll also need additional cables to connect the 4 batteries properly.

Not knowing if you have 6 or 12 VDC batteries, go to The 12volt Side of Life (Part 1) to understand how to connect the batteries.

Thanks All, So far I guess I would not have known the difference, so I'll keep going as is.

I need to find some kind of documentation for this coach, I know that is gonna be a needle in a haystack though.

If anyone has a 96 HR 34.5' tag 34CB and have manuals I would love to get a copy of them. Please let me know.

Have you tried calling (877-466-6226) Customer Support? HR website doesn't go back that far but they might have a hard copy.
