When visiting my Dad's place in MS, we park the RV beside an old shop building and under some hardwood trees. I have a nice 50-amp outlet in the building, so it's a nice setup. I pulled slightly forward of where I normally stop and started to back up into position when I heard this awful popping sound that was a cross between high-voltage electric arcing (if you have ever heard a corona discharge, you know what I'm trying to describe) and cracking glass! I hit the brakes and ran outside but couldn't see anything except some small limbs dragging on top. Reverse again and the same sound. This time I look for smoke, shattered glass or whatever and my heart rate is approaching lift-off. Nothing visible so I duuuhhhh reverse again and get the dreaded sound of doom. This time, I climb the ladder to the roof and get a close up view. A small limb had lodged in the old crank-up satt dish and was raising it against it's will! I swear it sounded like the roof was being ripped off from inside....or maybe I am just paranoid because nothing has gone wrong lately.

Anyway, we now return you to your normally scheduled programming. Have a nice day one and all. Hope you enjoyed a chuckle at my expense.

I have resorted to self-medication, 12oz at the time for the bp issue and all is well.

As for one of them hi-tech sat systems, I have looked into it but hiring someone to operate was too expensive. I settled on a rabbit-ear antenna from Radio Shack and an illegal immigrant to hold/rotate it for the best reception.

Does this mean you will be joining Nutensteve and us at the O-re-gone Campground to try to find the leaks that are making your carpet wet ???

Those 12 ounce curls work wonders after a experiance like yours. Hope there was no serious damage. I think we have all been there before.

Hey SacsTC, the only wet spot was where I was standing and it didn't come from the roof!

Yep, all turned out fine. I got to use the crank handle on the ceiling (knew it was there for some reason). Also had a good excuse to trim the trees in "my" parking space.

Cold in AlaBammer tonight. S'posed to be in the mid-20's. I fired up the AquaHot and turned on the water heater 120V element this afternoon. It's so pleasant inside the coach I may just camp in my yard tonight. Donna will probably raise heck if I put my fire ring on the grass though.
