SPA48, The last time we were in Vegas, we stayed at Circus Circus. Nice paved lot and very convenient. Can't wait to go back. Have fun.

We just stayed a week here: Las Vegas RV Resort | Las Vegas RV Park | Nevada | 89121. Zero complaints! 15 min from the strip.

Thousand Trails has a CG there. Not fancy, but secure and well located.

We have stayed at all the ones you have mentioned. We have grown fond of staying out at Sam's Town. Its not the closest to the strip but sometimes that's a good thing. Very reasonable rates, nice folks, a good security presence and good eating choices nearby. The Boulder Station Casino is just up the road and provides a good buffet for a reasonable price.

Sam's Town is now KOA. Interesting! Last spring, we spent a week at Arizona Charlie's, which is a couple of blocks towards town from Sam's Town, and on the same side of the Boulder Highway. We plan to do that one again, in a couple of weeks. Both had security folks patrolling it 24/7. Roadrunner is between the two, but it only has a few sites that will handle rigs like ours, and they only take reservations on the morning you plan to arrive. So it's pretty chancy.

FYI, we went to check this place out last time we were in Vegas around November and it was closed down. It looked really run down as if they were letting it go. There was about 5 older MH that looked like they had been there for a while. One guy told us they were getting ready to renovate the whole park and it wouldn't be ready until Summer of 2015.

As noted by others, Sam's Town is now KOA and rates went up and NO discount for extended stay, week or more. I talked to Security chief and they said a lot of complaints. Contract with KOA is for 2 years but check back in 6 months. Things could change.

Steve,
You never said what your price range was. If $60 a night is OK with you there are some nice resorts on the west side of town close to the I15.
If you are more budget minded (which I am) you can find better digs on the East side. Years ago, when Sam's Town was full they recommended Arizona Charlie's to us. Instead of the dusty rock parking areas of Sam's Town you get cement pads and rock trim with no dust. We have been more than satisfied there and have never returned to Sam's Town. (Sam's Town casino and restaurants are better, however.)
It is about a 15 minute drive to the strip, but all the parking there is free so we don't feel disadvantaged by not staying closer to the strip.

We always stay at Las Vegas Motorcoach resort. It's across the freeway from Oasis. 12 miles from the strip, though. Nice and quiet. Gorgeous grounds.

We stayed at the Hitchin Post, but that was nine years ago. It was ok. Our coach was less than two months old, and we felt quite uneasy. We do not like to stand out in an RV park, and in that one, at that time, we really did. There probably weren't any other RV's in there that weren't at least five to ten years old, many much much older than that, and quite a few permanent residents. But again, that was nine years ago. A lot can change in that time. The park was a little tight, but we did ok with our 42' and a tow. Look at it on Google Earth. (Actually, we try to check out all possible parks in advance, on GoogleEarth) Also, an RV park review website gives it a pretty good review. Las Vegas, NV Campground Reviews - Best of Las Vegas Camping - RV Park Reviews
Check it out.

Might take a look at Clark County Shooting Complex at the north end of Decatur. It's a ways from the strip but if that doesn't matter it has full hook ups, 30-50a, all pull throughs and only $20.00. Very safe. Assume everyone has protection.
