This user group has been very helpful. Here is a new issue. I have a 2009 Monaco Cayman with 340 Cummins with 10K miles. Just recently the ABS light and ATC light came on on the dash lights. Tried toggling the ATC switch to no avail. Also looked in the fuse panel for a blown fuse and nothing. There seems to be no braking problem although I haven't had to do any hard stops. Any suggestions would be hel[ful. Thanks in advance. Ted

You may have a code stored for this...if you have the message center, you can get to it using the diag function and then go to ABS menu, you can give that code to a repair center. If you don't have this...then the repair center can pull that code.

Ted:

You might try turning off both the chassis and house disconnects for a few minutes then turn back on. This may clear the problem.

I just had the same problem and solved, I think, for now. Someone on one of the forums, not sure if here, pointed out this solution. I have an '05 Windnsor, which likely has the same setup in the outside bay where your electrical panels are located. In that bay, there is a small module (can't remember the name) down on the bottom, which has a small buttom used to check codes etc. The key in this case is not to press the button with power on, such as the ignition. In my case I also turned off the chassis power. At that point I exercised the buttom, since the theory here is that the relay lacks good contact over time and the result is that both these lights come on when this happen. I had them coming on and off and staying on most of the time. After doing this, both are off. Maybe someone else can help more on the module name and location. Hope this help. D. White '07 Windsor

ABS touches many systems. The fault code is your best info. If your cruise control still works then it is probably not your brake pedal position sensor. You might double check any harness connections or plugs near your ABS unit.

You might try cleaning the front ABS sensors. There is a sensor on each wheel and if they get too much dirt on them they quit working. They just slide into position so you can pull them out, clean, then push back into position till it stops.

Ted,

I had the same problem while driving my coach all the way up to Alaska this past May. It was so intermittent and variable that I couldn't really come up with any reasonable cause for either one of the lights coming on, then going off, then coming back on again or staying on until the next days drive. The whole ABS/ATC idiot light thing got so bad that I finally gave up trying to figure it out and just drove the coach and ignored the lights.

Finally, one day I was reading a response to a similar problem that another person gave on a different forum and I decided one day to give it a shot. It is basically the same procedure that Whitehouse had written in his post earlier in this thread. I found the ABS Diagnostic Switch Relay / Breaker Panel module which was located in my front run bay compartment. It is mounted on one of the interior walls. It is about 2 inches square and has a button on it along with other components.

Make sure the ignition is off when doing this, but all you need to do is push that button about 20-25 times. I did that with mine and the very next trip I took, neither the ABS or ATC lights would come on except for when the coach firsts starts up which is the normal system check routine. The ATC light will stay on but should go off once you use the service brakes the very first time. It has been over two months now and many miles driving around Alaska, and I haven't had anymore intermittent ABS/ATC light problems.
