ABS/ATC, Source for repair replacement

Shop got my engine running but transmission is shifting hard. They say its caused by a bad ABS/ATC ECU. I've had a solid ATC light on for 9 months since I bought the coach and ignored it. A new ECU is $1600! Found Youtube videos of repairing auto ABS modules by soldering. Has anyone repaired, had repaired or replaced this item?

Before you repair I would run a diagnostic test that will tell you the fault. When I did mine it pointed out a bad rear wheel speed sensor that I replaced. Light went away. Never had any issues with hard shifting. Have you ever had the transmission serviced? Fluid and filter change? Are you using Transynd?

They put a 9100 Eaton test thing on there and indicated ECU. I changed transmission fluid and filters a few months ago right after I got it. Previous owner may not have used Transynd from the bottle I found in the coach.

I've been very happy with how it shifts since changing fluid. I'll see how it does when I drive it tomorrow. Thanks.

We may not have the same EC Module. My coach is a 2006, but I’ve seen Bendix EC 60 ATS/ABS units for anywhere from $100.00 used to $500.00 new. Are you comfortable with the shop you are dealing with?

My ATS/ABS Module was behind a removable panel underneath the panel that sits left of the drivers seat inside the coach. Panel has the transmission keypad, leveling module, and various rocker switches. I have a 2006 Diplomat

RockymtnRide, I have the coach back now. It shifted fine with ABS ECU disconnected and since I had spent so much money already I decided to leave unhooked and go. It has never shifted better!

I have an Eaton frame mount Gen 4/5, located above propane tank in lower bay. Has 3 12-wire plugs running to it. I have a picture (not attached due to slow campground wifi) with a serial number and Eaton part number 300 208.

Incidentally, cruise control and transmission temp guage and dash don't work now but no big deal in the short term. I monitor trans temp with Scanguage. If I could find the right part - especially for the prices you're talking about I would replace it myself today - pretty easy job ...even for me!
Thanks.

Mine doesn’t have a test button on it either. On mine I had to momentarily jump two lines to start the code retrieval. The codes then were flashed on the output light. My unit is the Bendix EC60

Got a used ABS computer from Visone RV parts yesterday and installed same. Now abs and atc work as designed - no dash lights. New one was quoted as $1600 by FL. I got the used one for $425.

There is no way you can find a NEW one of these for between $100 and $500.
