I have a problem with my ABS light staying on.
The service tech says it is not a wheel sensor, but the module, or "brain".
Says they don't make them anymore, and are working on the module mfg.
Sounds expensive. Anyone have this problem before?

My ABS light stayed on after a brake job but it ended up being a sensor that was not fully inserted.

You learned to drive before ABS was invented, Thus, You know how to drive w/o it. The "Brain" is the least likely failure (Does not mean it can not fail) but it is also the most expensive. So you either live without ABS, as you have for decades, or throw large money at it. only choices.

NOTE: If you "Chipped" your engine.... This *CAN* screw up the "Brain" on some vehicles. Depending on who's chip you used.. The good ones won't mess it up, the bad ones do.

I had to have my ABS module rebuilt for my Cadillac Catera. The guys at ModuleMaster rebuilds ABS modules for as low as $100, 2 day average turn-around, 5 Year Guarantee do great work rebuilding them.

I have an 04 Marquie and have same problem. Sometimes it will go off for months then stay on for a day. Usually after turning engine off a couple times it will reset itself?? Never bothered to have it checked as I am certain it is a sensor and don't want to throw money at it. Good luck
