On our 03 Windsor the blower motor is growling on all speeds. I found the blower motor but how does the dash come apart to get to it or do you have to remove the air conditioner evaporator in the generator comp. Is dash 2 pieces behind the wood trim?? Thanks much we are on the road in Atlanta GA and headed for some cold weather on our way home so will need the blower fan for sure.

I found the thread about cutting a hole in the dash but decided to try and take it apart instead. What a pain!!!!! Anyways didn't succeed in getting it apart so I ended up taking off the trim and cutting an access hole to remove the blower motor. Will patch it with something when we get home. Another project!!! LOL

Not totally sure how yours is designed. If it's like ours, try this. If you have dash air vents, remove them. Look at the top of the hole for the dash air vent. There should be a screw there going up to hold the top of the dash onto the front of the dash. Remove any of those screws that you find. There should be a screw or more behind the glove box (if you have one) holding the front of the dash to the sidewall of the coach ahead of the door. You may have to remove the molding that goes around the door.

The trick is to remove as many screws as necessary to be able to lift the right side of the dash top up a few inches, and the right front of the dash out of few inches. Then the heater motor becomes accessible.

There is no need to cut a hole in the front of the dash. It can be done properly. It's a bit of a pain, and very tedious work, but it can be done.

Thanks Jim but I tried everything for 2 hours but just couldn't get the lower part of the passenger dash apart from the upper dash. Had all the vents out and as many screws as I could reach but couldn't get it done. Even the tech at Monaco said that on a lot of models they have to end up cutting a hole in the dash so thats what I ended up doing. Will cover it up with either a magazine rack or some trim once we get home. I did get the big piece of trim covering the joint between the top dash and the lower dash off before I cut the hole so once I put the wide piece of trim back on it covered most of the middle of the hole so there really isn't that much to cover up. Poor engineering once again not thinking of servicing once things start to need repairing. Thanks

PS It is a 94-95 Chevy P/U heater blower motor that works.

The poor engineering never ends until we refuse to buy the product.

Oh well.
