Could I get someone with an '06 Endeavor to do me a favor? I have 17 100 v AC outlets and I lose power to them all when I pull the aft 20 amp CB on my inverter. Monaco says this is impossible. Could you see if your rig does the same thing? Thanks.

I just spoke with Gary at HR tech support and he said that what I suspected is true. Almost all of the 110 AC outlets (in my case 17) are wired through the inverter and are protected by the 20 amp CB on the inverter. He said the system was designed this way for dry campers who wanted inverter power to these outlets. If you want an PDF file of the AC wiring system, send me a PM.

17 outlets on a 20 amp circuit???

That's a brilliant design.

Hi -

I just talked to Flyer and confirmed that my coach is wired the same. Certainly makes no sense if you're NOT dry-camping all the time.

I wonder if it's also an IRVC (or whatever the RV industry-organization is called) standard?

I guess they did it a little differently in 07. I just looked at my 120v diagram, and mine are fairly equally divided between the inverter and one 20a breaker on the 120 panel. All three bedroom outlets are NOT on the inverter (the rear TV is). The bathroom, kitchen, curb-side bay, and front outlets all are on the inverter, but I've got two outlets in the dinnette area that are not. Ice maker is, refer is not. Microwave is alone on the OTHER leg of the inverter

I'd say I cannot argue with this system, it seems to be a fairly good compromise, and the choices make sense for dry camping.

Monaco said that my coach was built according to their specs. They also agreed that thier specs were wrong and when I was at the Diamond Hill service center they added a new 20 amp circuit breaker and ran a line to my galley slide out. So now I have some outlets that are not on the 20 amp inverter circuit breaker. Life is good!!

Man, you guys with all the technical jargon Us landlubbers have got to assume you mean the Kitchen slide. If any of those outlets are close to water, they must be GFI protected Make sure they installed a gfi receptacle at the beginning of the line..

OK--kitchen slide. The outlets are near the sink and I can't see a GFI protected outlet. I'll have to check back with Monaco. Thanks, SACs.

On ours, those outlets are fed from the bathroom circuit which is the beginning of the circuit and the gfi is in there. If you trip the gfi in the bath, you can then test the ones in the kitchen to see if they are live. That is probably what they did.

If the kitchen and bath are on separate circuits at the panel, then they will both need GFCI's. If the breaker controls kitchen AND bath, then the GFCI is usualy found in the bath. The fact that they added a circuit breaker leads me to believe you need another GFI.

Sacs is right, if you trip the bath GFI test button, it's easy enough to check hot circuits vs dead ones.

Not the GFCI in the bathroom. I think as Corkey says I need a GFCI in the "galley".

Flyer,
Take a look at the new breaker; it may have the GFCI built in.

Green lights and soft breezes,

Took a look and no such luck on the GFCI breaker.
