AC replacement
I just found out that one of my AC's on my 2007 Navigator is not working. Does anyone know what it will cost to replace the AC? Thanks.

It depends on the BTU(13.5 or 15K), Heat Pump or not.
Are you going to replace it yourself or in a shop?
Also if Coleman, Dometic or other make?

Sometimes the AC can be repaired vs completely replaced. I had a compressor run capacitor go bad on my 15k heat pump and was able to purchase and install a new capacitor. The compressor and cooling loop was still OK.
A quick trouble shooting or look inside the electrical may save you the cost/troubles of a complete replacement.

Dick,
Here's the problem as I understand it .
You have low profile penguin units made by Dometic.
Dometic doesn't make that exact A/C anymore .
They make a newer version that not only looks different
but is not totally compatible with your other 2 A/Cs .
You can go about it a number of ways
1 - find a good used one
2 - remove the control board from old unit and
install in new unit
3 - buy an adapter kit from Dometic , allows new
unit to communicate with old units and thermostat .
4 - replace all 3 air cond + thermostat
I had the same problem and decided to replace both
units and the thermostat .
Did it myself .

Had one replaced in Tucson this past Feb. (Coleman-AirXcel Mach 8, 15K heat pump). It was about $1,400. Tech used existing control board. New units are lower profile, noisier, and more flimsy and cheaply constructed than the unit we removed.

I upgraded my front unit from 13.5 to 15 last year in Eugene. Didn't need new board, cost was about $1600 f I recall correctly.
