Adapting a Genturi to my Aquahot
I wanted to show a small project I just completed. I wanted to get the diesel fumes from my Aquahot up in the air like my generator when using the Genturi. I purchased a 2 1/8 " ID to 2 1/8 " OD 90 degree elbow from Advanced Auto for $5.99. I drilled out the two rivets on each of the three metal arms and removed the 1 1/2 " elbow from the Genturi. I re-bent the arms slightly to fit the 2 1/8 " OD end of the elbow. I then riveted the arms to the elbow, adding one extra rivet to each arm for good measure. The 2 1/8 " ID site slips over the chrome tip of my Aquahot. I drilled a hole all the way through so I could attach the clip. I had removed the chrome tip and brought it with me to the store when I went for the elbow and this size was perfect.
On the initial test run from a totally cold Aquahot to shut off, the pipe just above the attaching arms went from 61 degrees F to 162 degrees with no sign of pipe deformation. At 7' above ground level the pipe measured 135 degrees. Within 5 minutes of shutdown the pipe had cooled to 75 degrees. I also purchased an 18" Genturi pipe extension from Campco to get the pipe above the coach roof.
I am well satisfied with outcome of the project and the change in diesel smell was amazing. I will not be bothering my neighbors or myself with the smell of diesel any longer.
