We have a patio awning that deploys directly from the slide, so it is only about 14 feet long. Our class C had a 20 foot and there were times we wished it was longer, so 14 is going to be tough. It was almost a deal-breaker in looking at Monacos until we finally went in one and fell in love with everything else about it. We figured that there must be a way to either add a second awning or maybe remove the current one and attach a larger one? Has anyone done it?

At the last rally I was parked next to a 2007 Dynasty that had 2 awnings. It was a 40' 4 slide MH with the second awning added between the front and rear slide.

When you say the awning was between the front and rear slide, did it only cover that area? Or, did it go further down the coach and cover the area where the bedroom slide was as well?

We will want to add something, it doesn't have to be huge, but I am hopingit is possible to add something that would cover from where the patio awning ends to maybe the far end of the bedroom slide. I am just not sure with the slides how that would work for installation at the roof line. Just guessing that the awning is deployed directly from the slide because there was no way to do it from the roof?

It was a small awning and it only covered the area between the slides.

The Signatures and Executives have the full length awnings. It attaches to the roof. I'm sure that if you really wanted to do it you could figure out how, and what parts you would need.

You could attach a Girard awning to the roof. You could probaly go as long as 20' and the Girard's come out farther too. I'm guessing it would cost around 6K-8k.

Wow, the Girard is too spendy for us. We just got the coach and have already had to do all new tires, an insurance deductible from the front end blowout, 50 amp EMS, possibly all new batteries, Blue Ox True Center on order and maybe another $1000 or so in miscellaneous. It adds up quick. We can wait until spring for the awning, but we will have to find a cheaper solution than the Girard (although they look really nice).

I will try to take a look at an Executive or Signature and see how the awnings work. The coach is at Alliance Coach in Wildwood right now, maybe they will have some suggestions. I did not want to bug them yet, they have enough to do from the blowout damage.

We have a Itasca Sunova with the patio awning mounted on the roof, and it comes out over the kitchen slide.
