I have a 2001 HR Endeavor and I am trying to find a small leak in the Bedroom. I have a bed that goes front to back and on the closet slide. I have a leak (SOMEWHERE) right in front of the platform. It is NOT coming from the bathroom and I am going through the process of elimination.

Anyway the rubber on the front side of the slide is not flipping out. To me it looks like the slide is about 1 inch shifted towards the front. Is it possible for 1 person to move the slide towards the back???????

Thanks....

On my 2002 Endeavor everything is under the bed. All of the slide mechanism's and controls are there. Just take the covers off and adjust it. Mine had a leak in the front bottom.

Leak on mine was on the rear side of the slide just about 2 inches below the top and at the outside wall of the slide. A screw head had work through the eternabond. The water was coming out at the bottom front and inside the coach.

If yours is like mine, there are two screws holding the mattress board to the bed frame at the foot of the bed. Remove those and raise it up and you should see the slide mechanism. It is bolted to the floor and the slide bolted to the part of the mechanism that moves in and out.

To get the rubber to flip in and out, get some safety strip and run it top to bottom about 6 inches from the rubber when the slide is out. DON'T use the sandpaper type as it will eat the rubber. Go to a boat store (or on-line West Marine) and get the product 3M makes. Comes in white or black and 3 textures - fine - medium - course. I used medium and it works fine.

Thanks Rex.... I wish I would have read your post earlier I was just down at Smyrna... I will have to go down there again and check out West Marine.

My bed is hinged so I can prop it up I have seen the box with about 10 screws in it.. I will look in there and see if I can find something to adjust... I am also going to look for the screw your talking about..

Thanks Jimmyzw22 and Rex

Another quickie is that under the bed there was enough room to make a dog house for our three Boston Terriors. Just had to cut a hole for an entrance on the side of the bed for them. It works out great.

Hummmmnnn! LeeB, sounds like you have a different mechanism under your bed than I do. the mattress board is hinged, but there are no gas props to hold it up. The screws are in the center under the mattress board and right in front of the frame at the foot of the bed.

The mechanism on mine is a large metal frame with a jack screw that operates it. it is totally exposed under the bed and just about fills the area.

I had a leak on the small slide too. I also found that the seal didnt want to "flip" out all the way. I found that the slide was slightly "cocked" when out. It was a simple adjustment of the stops on the rack of the slide mech under the bed......no more leak. It takes a very small adjustment of these stops, so be carefull.

Pictures sure do help. That looks like a closet slide and what I was talking about was a bed slide. Leak may be in the same place but don't waste any time looking for the screws I was talking about.

Only adjustments on that mechanism are for IN and OUT travel. The lever on the back of the motor is a brake. If you have to crank the slide in manually, move the lever to the opposite position and crank the slide in using a wrench on the shaft end.

Sure don't see any other way to adjust the slide fore and aft in the hole other than repositioning the mechanism mounting itself and don't recommend that.

Thanks Rex.... I am going to work on getting the rubber to flip on the side and not worry about the adjustment of the slide.. I need to make a road trip to West Marine and check about the safety tape and try that. I am also going to look for a larger hatch so I can replace the one in the bay so when I dump my tanks I can line up the hose with the valves. I already adjusted the dump down to center it a little better. But there still is not enough a room to hook up a 90* while hooked up to the hose. This is a design flaw the HR engineers should be shot for they should take ALL MH's to a dump station and dump the tanks.... Just like the guys that design cars... Make the engineers change the sparks plugs on a 1972 350 Chevrolet.....

OK I am off my Orange Crate.......

Make It A Great Day........ Lee

LeeB your slide mechanism is a Power Gear. If you poke around on their site you should find it and perhaps more information about how it works and adjustments to it.

As for the dump not being centered on the hole in the bay bottom, that isn't just a Holiday Rambler problem. I think it is all manufactures. Haven't seen one that isn't that way. A larger opening would also help even it it was centered with some of the various fittings.
