aftermarket fans

I understand both Cummins and Source sell aftermarket
radiator fans. More power and better fuel milage, I'm told.

What are the pros and cons of each?

I knew source had one. I didnt know Cummins had one.

Pros: more power, quieter

Cons : $$$, maybe a loss in cooling

The Source fan works great and no issue of heating. Must be a rear radiator fan model.

Try searching this forum for several threads concerning it. They also have an engine performance module.

There are two types available for a rear engine coach. One is the Horton clutch fan that is electronically controlled. It doesn't run until it gets a message that the engine is getting hot. You save fuel and gain HP when it's not running. The downside is that it will always be running when you're climbing a grade. The Horton will fit any brand coach.

The Source Engineering fan is a better designed fan than the OEM monster. On an ISL it gives 25 more HP and is giving you better mileage all the time. It gives even more HP on small engines that are turning faster. I think the Horton is around $800.00 and the Source is about $650.00

Very happy with the Source Fan. The way it is designed it gives the same cooling as the OEM fan. Fewer blades with a greater degree of "slant". Much quieter and saves horse power to to allow engine to climb hills cooler. deSanford
