I have a 1998 Executive. It has a four button Duo Therm Comfort Control thermostat.

I like to run the back air conditioner in mild heat conditions so the front of the coach is cool but quiet during the day. This fall when I tried it the back unit won't come on unless the front unit is on. I also dialed the front unit up to 90 degrees and the fan keeps running. The compressor is not running. I now have the back unit running but also have the front fan on.

Does anyone know what the problem is? And also, if I need to replace the control are the new five button controls compatible?

We spend our summers in Alaska so I only run the air conditioners during the winter, in Texas. It's 75 degrees today, about 15 degrees above our comfort level.

Thanks

If you have to go to a 5-button, you will also have to change the PC board in each air conditioner. That can get expensive. Here is a guy that was rebuilding the 4-button units for around $105:

Changing to a 5-button will be way more expensive. I did recently see a 4-button on eBay.

Was looking in the National Rv group and a fellow named Vito.a has a 4 button thermostat for sale in the IRV classified. Might be worth a look

Thanks guys,

I checked ebay, nothing, so I got the unit from Vito. Hopefully it will fix the problem.
