Air Door Seal

I discovered this year that our coach has an inflatable door seal. And the only reason I noticed was because it was leaking. The main part of the seal which goes up the front of the door and across the top and down the back side are in like new condition. However the bottom edge which gets the most wear is showing signs of cracking in a couple of places and consequently leaks.
This is a very low-pressure rubber inflatable seal. Likely 5lbs or so.
There must be many products available which can be used to patch/seal rubber or similar materials.
Anyone have an suggestions or recommendations?
I think that a replacement seal is likely out of the question because of cost or availability.
Thanks, Iver.

Yes, his is a 2000. My 2008 has one as well. Curious where this thread leads.
I am also on need of the outside rubber hinge cover.

2000.

I was thinking that now there are so many "space-age" type adhesives and sealers that perhaps something would work well on rubber considering the low pressure in the seal.
Thanks, Iver.

That's an interesting feature. I get a little noise from my door right about 60 but im not sure I see that as much of an option as a solution..

If your seal is like mine on my ‘98 Sig, it was manufactured by PTL Engineering in Michigan for Monaco. The inflatable doorseal is no longer available but they have a rubber seal that will replace it available. I don’t have any idea of how to patch it since the rubber is so thin.

If you look at the bottom front corner of the door you will see an air supply hose, (looks like a typical vacuum hose), which just slips on to a fitting on the door seal.
I had to replace the supply hose on mine. It comes from a small adjustable regulator on the frame next to the generator and fits through a small hole in the door frame and then connects to the air seal.
Iver.

I'm sure you already thought of it, but they make tube repair kits for bikes...come with contact cement for preparing the site, and then you apply a rubber patch that has adhesive on one side which bonds with the contact cement. If a tube patch will fit, it should do the job.

I had a leak in mine where a screw pierced it. Bike tube repair did the trick no problems since.

I was thinking about the tire patch as well. Lately I have seen these TV ads about some sticky tape. Shows a guy cutting an aluminum boat in half and then sticking it back together with this tape. Typical "infomercial".
I won't likely take on the repair until next spring so I'll just keep looking for all the different alternatives.
Thanks, Iver.

No, I don't think any of the windsors had the inflatable door seal.

Okay this is an update.
I did manage to patch the door seal where it was leaking. Not sure how long it will last but so far so good.
BUT....when I first tested the seal I connected the air line to the inlet on the seal and started the coach. The seal is inflated when the engine is running and you close the door. So, with the engine running I went out of the coach and closed the door. Again, so far so good.
But now when I tried to open the door......nope uh-uh. It was sealed shut.
I could not budge the handle to open the door without breaking it. I was stuck outside the coach with the engine running. The engine hatch was locked so I could not get to the rear engine switch.
I quickly grabbed a step ladder and luckily found a window that was not latched and slid it open and crawled in and shut off the coach. The seal deflated and the door opened as usual.
So I checked the regulator under the coach which controls the air for the seal and it was set to 40 lbs.. I never checked the regulator after repairing the seal and I guess it had never been set correctly. I set it a 4 lbs. and it seems to now be okay.
Still wondering what I would have done if I had not found an open window.....
