Before I go to the Monaco Tech Support folks I thought I should check here to see if I have an issue. I have a new 2007 HR Endeavor and I am not sure the air dump is working properly. I understand the manual sequence for leveling and have done so successfully several times but have yet to have the air dump switch actually dump and air. I have pressed the switch with the key on, off and in ACC position with air pressure at about 120 psi and with it bled down to less than 60 psi. In all cases I do not hear any air being released nor do I see the air pressure gauge going down. Is this correct? Am I doing something wrong? I can release air by pumping the brake pedal but not by using the air dump switch. Thanks for the help.

With my 2007 dip I am able to hear the air and see the gauge going down when pushing the air dump with the key on.

Same with ours. You can hear the air escaping and feel the coach setteling on the chassis. Sounds like your system is not working correctly.

LewF,
Welcome to IRV2!!
Since I/we have the sister coach to yours, I actually feel almost qualified to answer this question.
The key must be on to dump the air. (assuming they wired yours the same as mine)
It does not break any speed records dumping air, but if the switch is held down, it does dump. (If operating correctly) You should be able to see the guage dropping pressure, but like I said, you must hold the switch on. It is not a press and release. You should also be able to hear it and feel the coach settle as Our Time stated..

OK - looks like that answers the question - my air dump is not working correctly. When I press and hold the switch nothing happens. I have tried this in every key position and at multiple air pressures and have held it closed for some time.

Anybody know where the air dump valve is located, I may simply have a loose connection. Thanks.

I'm not where I can look, and I'm not too sure MM could/would try to crawl under there after she gets off work, so this is from memory..
It is just behind the front tires in front of the air tank, right center if looking from the front of the coach???

I don't know if this will help, but mine is on the firewall, outside, directly in front of the driver. It's about the size of a 35MM film canister. It's nothing more than a small solenoid driven air valve. There is another for the rear tank, but I haven't spent the time to track it down.

I wish I had my coach here because I'm thinking you may have a blown fuse. There are two valves, and I would think if it was a mechanical issue only one would be acting up. With both out of commission, I'm guessing electrical fault, hence the fuse guess.

Great help! Corky says it is probably a fuse and SacsTC tells me where it is located. That is indeed the the problem.

I went to the electrical panel in the Accessory #1 group and to fuse #30 and found not a fuse but a very small "breaker". It is about four times the size of a fuse, in a slim silver metal can and has a blue button on the end. The button had popped out so I pushed it in and the air dump worked! Now for the bad part, it only worked for about 20 to 30 seconds and then it tripped the breaker again. I tried it twice and with the same results. Now I have to figure out if it is a bad breaker or an overloaded circuit. We are making progress.

While dumping air, you can speed up the process by pumping the brakes a few times. Each time you pump the brakes you can see the system drop pressure by 5 to 10#. It helps a little.

To wrap this one up - my coach is at Buddy Gregg's in Knoxville tracking down a short in the 12v air dump circuit. They have been at it for two days now.

Other things I have learned or was told by Monaco Tech Support - using the brakes to drop air pressure only releases air from the front and rear air tanks, there are three suspension air bag dump valves and that are the only way to dump the air bags, if the air tanks are not dumped to a low pressure then they will pump the air bags as fast as you dump them making reducing pressure a lengthy exercise, therefore, dump air tanks to less than 60 PSI with the brake and then continue to dump air from the suspension with the air dump system.

Oh by the way if you don't do this my coach levels very high and you need an extra step or long legs to get into the coach.

Thanks for the help given here - hopefully the service shop will have my problem fixed shortly.
