Our 09 Dynasty has a air pump that will fill the air bags when sitting and the air pressure in the air tanks gets low...Yesterday it has started to cycle every 5 minutes or so, comes on for about a second or two...Anyone have an idea where to start?
Thanks Carl

So you have a leak?
Only way to do it: - Soapy water and get dirty under the coach

I'm sure others will chime in but the first thing I would do is replace the air governor. It's an inexpensive item and easy to replace yourself. On my Freightliner with a Cummins, it's located between the air dryer and the air pump and sort of looks like a brake cylinder on the old shoe brakes.

And if you are a "do-it-yourself" person, I would recommend getting one from a dealer for your chassis. I've had a couple of dogs I picked up at big truck parts stores. But maybe that's just me.....

.
I may be wrong but I believe he is talking about the 12V auxiliary pump/compresor used for air leveling since he says this happens when sitting (not engine running). This 12V compressor is not connected to the engine air governor. It has a pressure switch which does the cut in/out at 105/120psi. He has a leak somewhere.

Basically air up the coach and be safe underneath w/proper jacks. Get soapy water in a bottle and start spraying to see where the leak is.

Carl- if its an air leak, a second or two of pumping seems suspect to me to cure an air deficiency. Don't rule out a defective pressure switch on the 12V pump setup.

It does't seem to be an air leak...I fired up the engine and filled the front and rear air tanks to 129 psi, shut the coach off, and after a few minutes the 12 volt air pump came on again, but just for a moment, still had 129 psi in both tanks, I slid the generator out to gain access to the 12 volt pump and now it won't act up....so I am waiting for it to cycle again before I can continue.
Thanks Carl
