In the process of stepping up to a DP. A 2005 Monaco Cayman 34SKD. The owner said it has "air bag suspension". Is that real air ride or just bags over springs? Is it a better ride than just springs? One of the reasons we are trading is to get away from the pounding we are getting with the lighter chassis on our 30.5 Monaco Monarch SE.
Thanks

Air bags no springs
Check the rear trailing arms on the rear suspension to make sure they have been upgraded.
Refer to the Monaco forum "Trailing Arms Cracked"
I've listed the affected coaches Source Manufacturing sells the kit to fix this problem.
Good Luck

Ask if the trailing arms have been upgraded? There is a big problem there. Search in the chassis section and you will find more than you have time to read. Make sure you drive the coach and see how it rides and handles before you make a decision.

Wouldn't drive it around the block without seeing the work order concerning the "upgraded" trailing arms. These "arms" are what connect the rear axel to the frame!!!

Here is the link to the recall

TOns of information in the forum on this issue. I remember a couple links that had pictures of the bad trailing arm and it's replacement so you could tell yourself if they have been replaced

I wouldn't either, this is a very very important issue. It's a wonder no one has gotten seriously hurt from this problem.
