One more nagging problem to solve on our coach - 2009 Monaco Camelot 42KFQ. The pushbutton panel that selects the various functions to display in the middle of the oval information and warning panel on the dash has stopped selecting functions. The Aladdin (at least that is what I think the system is) continues to display the last selected functions - PSI. I can't select any other functions - Main, Fuel, Temp, Trip, etc. It is a minor irritation since the normal instruments work and are quite accurate on this coach, but is an itch I can't scratch and I want to fix it.
So, anyone have any ideas on this one. I suspect it is a loose plug or ground somewhere. There is a removable panel on the console beside the driver and I have removed it for a quick look. I unplugged and replugged what looks like the pushbutton wiring bundle with no success. I am now looking for the actual Aladdin module to see if there is a loose plug there.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Lew

Do you have a master reset button. On my Signature it is above the driver on the panel above the window. If no reset button then maybe time to disconnect all the batteries or the fuse to the Aladdin system and perform a total reset. When mine hung up I had to disconnect the house and motor negative battery cables and pull the plug to the solar panel so no power and then it reset and worked correctly again. This was for a different problem than yours but it took a total restart to fix it.

Mike, I am now not sure that my system is an Aladdin. Had an Aladdin on my old 2007 Endeavor and the 2008 Camelot manual says it has an Aladdin but my system is simply called something like the dash LCD display - doesn't look like my old Aladdin. The oval display has lots of warning lights but it also has an LCD display in the center that can be changed by the pushbutton panel to the left of the driver. I will continue to trouble shoot this animal. Too bad that the technical experts at various RV shops and at Monaco know so little technical detail about the stuff they manufacture and work on. I have gotten lots of bum dope on this one so I will continue to work and figure it out. I think I probably have a defective pushbutton module. Thanks for the good feedback.

Lew, if they are actual pushbuttons then by any chance is one stuck in? If it is stuck in then none of the other functions will work. Maybe the one that is stuck is the one that selects whatever is always displayed. If not it still might be worth pukking the power to it and restarting it. Thereis still probably a microprocessor in it,

Well it is not an Aladdin system. It is actually a new (different) system provided by Medallion Instrumentation Systems call an ILB, Integrated Light Bar. After much digging around I found a schematic of the system and found the name of the manufacturer on the back of the panel display. I am talking with tech support now to see how to fix the problem.
Thanks for the help Mike (I really think the problem is in the pushbutton assembly).
You are a P3 guy you must have spent time at Brunswick. I spent six plus years at the Naval Shipyard at Kittery. Love Maine hate the cold.

I retired out of Brunswick. Just left there after spending a month up there. The base is all shut down now.

Mike, you were right. I finally went out and shut down all power, AC and DC, to the coach and then turned it back on. Now the system works like it is supposed to. The instrument system is made by Medallion Instrument Sys. and is called an Integrated Light Bar (ILB) system. All of the instruments, warnings and various coach info, temp, trip information, etc. is multiplexed in this system. Don't know where the "brain" is located but will eventually locate.
Thanks again, your suggestion of "re-booting" the system helped me solve the problem.

Lew, on the F-22 Raptor, the world's most advanced fighter we sometimes have problems on initial startup with the electronics and the answer is to shut everything down disconnect the power then reconnect and start it all backup. It always fixes the problem and doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the system.

There's an old story about Microsoft. If cars were made by Microsoft, they'd stop every few miles, you'd get out and disconnect the battery for 1 minute, then reconnect it and go on your way. The strange thing about it is that Microsoft would have no fix for it and no one would be upset about it!!
