Hi everyone, new to Rving and just picked up my 2007 Monaco Knight and have a hundred questions but will limit to two...maybe three.
I am trying to figure out the Aladdin system and would like to find out if there is a simple way to have it default to rear view. Whenever I turn on the blinker -it activates the side view then stays in this view and does not return to rear view, so I manual return it to rear view each time.
Second question, I have a step light out and can't find a replacement. It looks like a small fuse. The RV dealer has larger round ones...say 3/8" dia but this one is around 1/4" dia.
Lastly, a remote did not come with the coach to run the dvd/stereo system mounted in the front dash which plays through the surround system. Does anyone know the mfg or where I might find a remote or code a remote e.g. Sony....
Thanks so much,
Bob

Hi Zokiah, it looks like you have the same year and model Monaco mh that I have. On the Aldian control button you can bring up any view you want on the cameras. But every time you start up you will have to set it. I think if I remember right you push the down arrow button to see the rear camera. If you pm me I will give you my e mail address if you have any other Questions. We love our Knight but have had some problems that had to be taken care of.

RE the remote. You probably have a Magnadyne M9900DVDS radio. The remote is very small, about the size of a credit card. Mine was bad but I just googled magnadyne remote and I found one for 45.00. Good luck and enjoy your new coach.

I feel confident hat I can find a spare remote control in my RV. My Magnadyne is completely useless and if this is what you need I will send you my remote in the post. The is completely free of charge for a fellow IRV2 user of course.
Send me a PM if interested - we will be back in the US at New Year.

I called Monaco (877) 466-6226 for my step light bulbs. It was cheaper to replace the entire fixture $4.00 each bought 4 to have spares. I couldn't find those little bulbs anywhere. They are like a car dome light only smaller in diameter, pointed on both ends, if we have the same ones.

On the camera, it turns to the side when the turn signals are on because there is a "trigger wire" that goes to the turn signal circuit. There is also a trigger wire for the rear camera tied to the backup light circuit. It goes to that camera whenever the trigger wire has 12 volt power. On mine, I had the same issue, so I cut into the trigger wire going to the backup light circuit and installed a toggle switch. The other side of the switch, I took to constant 12 volt power. Now, whenever the toggle switch is flipped, it stays on the rear view regardless. When the switch is not flipped, it works as the factory designed.

I added a monitor on the LH drivers console just for the Alladin system, several other on the site have done the same mod. Here is a link to a page by Robin_m that one one of the first to add the monitor and has also done a lot of other mods to his coach, and they are really nice upgrades. Diplomat Mods

Dennis,
I used an aftermarket flip down display, Boss BV10.4FB, mounted under the front TV cabinet to display the Aladdin data. The in-dash display is less than useless while driving and could be dangerous if you're not careful. Our old Safari used the front TV to display the rear camera pix but whne I tried that with this MH I ofund that I had to lean back to see it and the large flatscreen display wasn't clear at that angle. I removed the old Sony tube TV and cut down the cabinet for the new flat screen . The cabinet is now about 4" shorter and now 3" reduced in depth. I could have gone furthur but was thinking that in the future I might need the extra size. I also removed the little round center speaker that was mounted in the cabinet and replaced it with a JBL 6" cube speaker that projects the sound into the room instead of down to the dash. I've had this configuration for over a year now and have made two trips from Calif to Mo. and am fully stisfied with the performance. Wifey likes being able to see the monitor as well.
Ron
