Aladdin rear view options
On my 2007 Monaco Dynasty I can select rear view mode on by going to the engine screen and IIRC select right and it will go to rear view mode. I use it all the time when I'm driving. If you turn on a turn signal it will revert to the appropriate side camera until the turn signal recycles. I like the full time rear view camera view as it give me a good view of traffic and TOAD behind me, especially when I'm wanting to change lanes. Very helpful in heavy traffic, avoiding motorcycles, and giving a heads up on rear speeders.

My 2004 executive has the aladdin system with see vision so it has the 4 cameras. When I first turn the cameras on they will scroll through but it is possible to select 1 camera (rear, sides or interior) and it will stay on that camera until you turn on the turn signal and then it goes to that camera and then back to the selected camera once the turn signal is off. Like Windecker said, I don't always like it switching to the side camera since the rear camera helps in pulling back into a lane more than the side camera. Also my side cameras are intek B/W and not the best picture and the rear camera is color and is a much better picture. I may have gone a little overboard, but what I recently did was install new color cameras on the mirrors and then added 2 more 7 inch monitors so I can see all three anytime I want. I have only driven it about 30 miles since I did this but I think I am really going to like it this way. The new cameras and monitors are wired in so they come on with the aladdin system but they are not tied into aladdin with the turn signal now so the rear camera stays on all the time unless I switch menus to check engine stats or whatever.

Dang! Nice work.
My sides are BW also. I put an additional monitor in my Signature but have not gotten there yet with the Executive.
The to do list is still pretty long but I do hope to add another monitor at some point.

Dave, I need a right side Intec camera. If you still have your old mirror mounted camera, let me know if you want to sell it.
Also, what brand/model side cameras did you switch to? Do they mount in the same Intec housing or location?

Dave,
I have the same questions Mike asked. What new side cameras did you use and did they fit in the mirror mounts?
Thanks

CountryB and vito.a, I bought my cameras on ebay. They have the infared lights for night vision which do work pretty well. They do not fit in the intek housings, I was hoping they could be modified to fit but that just wasn't an option. When I hooked them up to my aladdin system the picture would roll like an old tv that needed the vertical hold adjusted, basically incompatible with my aladdin. That's when I decided that I would add the two monitors so I could see them all at one time. I do have the new cameras mounted right where the old ones were but it took a lot of modifications to make that work. None of the wiring connections were compatible but that wasn't too much trouble to solve. I will do some research and let you know what I bought and how much they cost. They were pretty reasonable on cost and do have a nice color image with the new monitors. CountryB, I will pm you about my old cameras, you may as well use them if they will work for you.

CountryB and vito.a, I went to ebay and looked up what I bought. The cameras are black and have an eyeball type camera that can be adjusted inside the housing (ebay item number 302787744530). The monitors are black with a dash mount that I did not use (ebay item number 253558826921) The total cost was around $110 but it did take a lot of time to get it up and working. If anyone would want more details I would be happy to help.

rebuilt cameras
CountryB and Vito I had one of my cameras under the mirror rebuilt with a color camera. I took it in to Intec Video Systems in California and they rebuilt the camera with a color circuit board. Took about 1.5 weeks to do. They also had the chrome housings to hold the cameras but pretty spendy… Cost for rebuild was about $100 I think. The new one if very clear and nice color....

I got quote from Intec in early 2018 for new left side camera. They wanted $600 (includes chrome housing) for new BW camera, or told me I could send in my camera for troubleshooting and repair estimate.
I sent it in and they could not repair it. They put a new BW camera in "my housing" and it cost me $300.
I guess it all depends on what is wrong with the camera regarding the final price you pay.

Hi, I am on this same project. I tried to look up your cameras by using the ebay item number but couldn't find it that way.
Also I would definitely be interested in how you spliced your old wire to your new cameras. Thank you.

Our 2004 is the same exact way. I wonder if side view cameras could be installed and monitored through Aladdin?

The Aladdin has the ability to switch between multiple video inputs. If you don't already have this setup (i.e. you want to add side view cameras) you would also need to provide a signal from the turn signals so the cameras switch with the turn signal activation.

I added a second bluetooth camera on the top of the original camera. The trigger wire for the camera is attached to the taillight wiring. A new 7" monitor is attached to the dash. When traveling I have the parking lights or headlights on and the Aladdin monitors is the engine and trans temp, RPMs, and battery charging. The monitor is much better than the original Aladdin and the camera is adjustable up or down.
