Hey guys my front screen started acting up. First it wouldn't come on at all, even when I turned the turn signals on. Then it came on and cameras worked and main menu came on but joystick would not move the selection arrow. I went to bedroom and it works fine on the tv screen there. When I selected an area ( like electrical) and then came to front screen the arrow was on electrical but joystick won't do anything. I am thinking possibility of connection problem or (hope not) the joystick is shot. Anyone "been there done that" with this or any suggestions. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Most likely the front joystick has gone bad because it is used the most. This is pretty common. I would swap the whole joystick unit from front to back and see if the problem changes. If it is the joystick then they have gone up to $149 on ebay. You can switch to the newer type which uses four buttons instead of a joystick and they are $108 each and can be bought through Northwest RV supply but they are out of them right now.
Northwest RV Supply?
Do you have a joystick also in your kitchen area. That is where I swapped mine to the front because the kitchen one was never used.

Your Knight (like my Diplomat) uses the Aladdin JR. It is very different from the Aladdin in the higher end coaches with a lot less features.
Sorry

Make sure your batteries are charged. My batteries were low and the Aladin System was acting like you described. Changes batteries and presto, fixed!

Pretty sure I found the problem. The small red light on the joystick isn't even light up so I believe it isn't getting any power. Does anyone know when the joystick gets its power and where a fuse may be? I looked under the joystick and found the two wires that lead to it but not able to trace them back to power or fuse??? Thanks again in advance for any suggestions. Saving me money guys??? $120 an hour at RV repair????

The joy stick connects to the Aladdin CPU unit. There should be no fuse. The red light only comes on when you move the joy stick and activate the Aladdin CPU/Controller. It is NOT a power led but is an indication that the joy stick is communicating with the CPU/Controller. If the Aladdin in in Sleep Mode then that LED is off and will not come on until you move the joy stick then once it has woken up the CPU/controller it will flash once every four seconds or everytime you move the joy stick. Go back into the bedroom and check the other joy stick and see how it works. The joy stick box has a circuit board in it. If the circuiit board is bad or the joy stick is bad then it will not activate the Aladdin and therefore the red LED will not come on and flash. If the bedroom joy stick operates the Aladdin OK then there is nothing wrong with the Aladdin CPU/Controller and most likely that front joy stick unit is bad. Have you swapped the front joy stick unit with the back joystick unit yet?

Mike, I just started to swap the joystick out when I noticed the red light would not come on so I thought it might be a fuse. Thank you for all your info. Very much appreciated.

several items on my rig that have had problems I have "reset" or just unplugged and then somehow they worked. Thankful same thing happened on the front Aladdin joystick. I started to remove it then decided to just unplug it and plug it back in . The RV fairy came and did her job!!! Thank in advance for all suggestions.

That is great. Glad it was that simple. In a 100+ million dollar jet fighter I worked on it was very common that when we powered up all the computers something just wouldn't work correctly. We would power it back down and power it back up again and everything would then work. Also lots of times when we had a failure I could have somebody pull and reseat the circuit board and it would then work OK.
