Has anyone experienced this type of problem? On a recent trip a warning alarm started sounding. Not real loud, had to off the radio to confirm it was sounding. All dash gauges were in normal range. I have only heard this alarm in the past when the water temp was rising toward hot. I asume it is a gauge out of range alarm. I pulled over and shut off then restarted the engine. No change, still faint alarm. We were 40 or so miles from our start, "rolling" road through the desert, approx 45 mph when it started, raining fairly steady. On the return trip no problem. I have checked fluids (not same alrm as jacks down or low on fluid).
Anyone have an idea what else I need to check or watch for? Next trip is Quartzite, too late for the rally. Visiting family. Don't want to have a problem out in the middle of the desert. Thanks!

I had this happen once to me when I did not let the engine warm up long enough before moving the RV........Good Luck!

When my coach was about 6 months old, mine also chimed at less that full volume as I was driving one night on the freeway. No associated warning lights came on. I pulled off the interstate, turned off the engine and lights, restarted and the chime continued. I then pulled off the dash cover, found the module, unplugged it, plugged it back in, and then all was well. The problem has never reoccurred. Bill Gates taught us well, just reboot.

There are several alarms in a motor home.. One that can be real hard to track down if you have an A&W power awning is the "It's too cold" alarm.. You see A&W uses two wind sensors depending on when it was built, the older one did not work well if it was too cold so it alarmed, since the controls are often hidden in a cabinet, so is the alarm and that makes it much softer
Some of them can get wet.. Example is a door open or headlight alarm (This on a car more than a motor home)
I occasionally get a brake failure alarm on the towed, even when they are working.. I'm working on that since I THINK I know what causes it but it will take a while to find the fault.

Mike.....When we bought our 05 new, an alarm sounded on the way home from the dealer (4 hour drive). It started out very faintly as ticking or chirping noise and then grew into an alarm like you described. I stopped the coach and called Monaco. On mine it was an engine temperature alarm that Monaco had added to the coach. The tech told me to disconnect it and leave it that way. I could actually hear the alarm start to make noise at 195 degrees and then get louder as the temp went up.
Your Cummins will LET you know if you have an issue and will start alarming and shutting the engine down.
Mine was under the removable panel on the dash. It was a black plastic unit about 4" long, 1 1/2" wide and a 1/4" thick.

Based on past experience I think you have an "Oil Sensor Alarm". Here is a link to a thread that discusses the problem in depth. The answer most people find is to locate the alarm unit under the dash while it is going off and unplug it. Monaco says the alarm is redundent to the Cummings ECU and the Aladdin system you have in the coach.

I have had an 03, 04 and now an 05 Monaco Knight and all have had the problem you speak about. Moisture on the road, not necessarily rain, was always present. The 05 has only had the problem a couple of times but the 03 and 04 were constant every time it was moist. When Monaco was "Monaco" they worked on my units at Elkhart for weeks trying to get rid of the problem. The 03 required resealing the ground connections at the Air Tank reservoirs. The moisture was causing a short to ground. The 04 required a special metal shield to keep road moisture from coating the Alternator Area. The fixes worked but not completely. That is when Monaco "threw their hands in the air" and told us to just unplug the Tone Generator! I don't know why they never tried to change the sensitivity of the Tone Generator. Sorry to just babble on but I thought you should have some background INFO. Use a lot of GE Silicone on the connectors and see if it helps. On my 05, I am going to try Dielectric Grease contained with Rescue tape next!

Thanks for all the great information. I do not have an Aladdin system, nor a wind sensor for the awning. It rarely rains here in the desert so hopefully I will not have this experience too often.
