Algae in fuel

96 HR Endeavor, 230 cumins. 90 gallon tank.Finding a stringy seaweed / graphite in the top of the main fuel filter when I changed it. I usuall keep the tank full to avoid condensation. I run the coach several times a month so it dosnt sit long. I live in central Florida. Any ideas and what do i use or have to do to clean up the fuel

I am no expert but it sounds like algae. From what I understand it can grow in diesel fuel when the tank is not full and especially it hot environments like Florida summer. I believe you will need an algicide like Pri-Ocide and change your filter a few times.

Living in Florida you need to keep some Biobore algaecide in your tank when in storage. You may have to have the fuel cleaned to eliminate the algae. Look for companies that do 'fuel polishing' on boats. They pump the fuel out of your tank, clean it and put it back in the tank. May sound expensive but not as much as having to change a bunch of filters or dropping the tank to clean it.
