All 4 slides will not move

I had a problem this summer with all four slides that I want to share with all you out there. Perhaps it can save you a pile of money..

We pulled into Salt Lake City KOA and tried to extend our 4 slides on our 38 ft. Holiday Rambler Sceptre. The back 2 came out just fine, but the 2 in the front room did not. The DW held the extend switch IN and finally the drivers side extended. The passengers would not.

I had to call one of the mobile rv techs that were listed in our campground brochure as we were to leave the next day.

What he found was....on the control panel for the slides which is on the passengers side rear there are 2 fuses. One is a 5 amp spade fuse and the other is a 25 amp auto reset circuit breaker. We tested both with a ohm meter and all tested fine. So the guy used a load tester and found that it broke down under load. The slides would not work because the breaker would not let enough power to go to the slide motors.

He replaced the 25 amp circuit breaker and all worked fine. My bill was 200.00 dollars.

I will be carrying a spare circuit breaker from now on.

I just thought that I would pass this on to you so you won't find your self in the situation I was in and have to pay $200.00 for something we can do our self for a whole lot less than $200.00 dollars. Carry a spare breaker.

Thx Ted

Great help & suggestion. Many thanks as my MH has two slides. The only problem Iv'e had with slides not extending was when the house batteries were too low or dead while boon docking.

Great info. Ted, As I have traveled around our country on my Harley's and my auto's and now in our Coach, when I have broke down I have bought a spare part for the break down and I still have them all........ I think buying spare parts wards off the break-down god's.........
P.S I have never used a boughten spare part as of yet......... Just say-in

Yup ... if you had a spare for everything that could break, you'd have 2 motorhomes
