That usually means that it is 3 qtrs.. low. Was it idling the whole time that it was checked?? I had a leak where the PTO bolted to the trans and when I checked fluid level mine showed OL LO 4. I added 3 qtrs. and rechecked and it read OL OK. It is easier to add more than take some out. How to read trans display is in the Allison Manual..

Yes it was idling all the time. When I changed the fluid and filters,I removed 19 qts. and Now I have about 20 qts.in it, when I filled it the fluid started to come out the filler tube.

Sounds like you checked it right & the oil was 3 quarts low BUT I would add 2 quarts and check it again. Make sure the coach is parked on level ground.

I had work done last year on my coach, when I got home it said 3 quarts low, add 2 and everything was OK.

Do you have the 3000 with the 2" deep pan? If so, it should take 16 quarts when you drain and replace the 2 filters. If you have the 4" deep pan not sure without checking the specs, but if the fluid is running out the filler tube something is not within specs for your transmission. Please check specs before operating.

Before and after I changed the transmission oil the electronic read out showed 2 Qt low. Called Allison, the fellow explained that some RV's did not have the engine and trans level when the unit was. Sure enough mine slopes toward the front. The next time I had it up to temp I deliberately parked so engine level (front of MH was slightly high). It then read 1 qt. low, I added the 1 qt. now if engine and transmission are level it reads full. Maybe take a look and see if yours is also sloped a bit. Holiday Rambler, 8.3 Allison 3000, 4" pan.
