Just purchased a Holiday Rambler Endeavor (2000). Everything I can find says it has an Aluminum roof.
This weekend, I going to climb up on top to inspect it, is there anything I should know?
Should it be sealed?
Is it safe to walk on?
Should I be caulking seams?
I am really a newbies(first motorhome)
Thanks in advance

Yep it should be an aluminum roof. You will have two pieces front to back with a 4” wide EternaBond tape down the middle seam. The EternaBond will ‘bleed’ along the edges but it will not leak. You can put self leveling caulk on the edge to cover the bleeding (tar).
Yes you can walk on the roof unless you are way overweight. Don’t step on the rear or front cap. You may also have EternaBond on the seam between the front and rear caps and the aluminum roof. Where the roof rolls down to the sides at the front and rear cap, you should caulk that seam ( where it does not have EternaBond) and keep a close eye on it several times a year to make sure the caulk is OK. The aluminum should be painted white and you only need to wash it with mild soap.

Thank you for the advice. I was thinking I might have to put some kind of elastic roof coating on, being the roof is 11 or 12 years old. The same kind of stuff they use to seal flashing. The less I have to do the better, I wear oxygen, not easy to get around.

Dave I think you have one of the best roofs around, Its light and gives very little problems and painted white all you need to do is as Rex said and check the seams and reseal with C-10 Flow seal or any good sealant ( not RTV )

Thanks for your advice, just a couple of questions. What is RTV?
What is better, to put down the eternabond rsw or the caulk? Seems to me the eternabond would be more of. Permanent thing for the end caps

Room-temperature vulcanizing (RTV). This is pretty old stuff, I would take a look at some marine polyurethane. It works better than RTV and lasts alot longer.

My aluminum roof is 22 years old.. The only problem was a tear from the previous owner hitting something. Busted up the AC shroud too.. All the seams are still original and in good shape, but I coated them with a clear product called Ultima Brushable Sealant at Menards dabbed on with a cheap chip brush. It flows out, fills any and all cracks, and dries crystal clear. Mines a one piece roof..
