It seems to be the season for water leaks. We have been here at Chatfield State Park in Littleton CO all week. We came in last Monday and that night it poured rain. We awakened to a soaked carpet at the lower corner of the large bedroom slide near the shower wall. After some clean up efforts I went outside to inspect the slide and discovered that the rubber gasket had not flipped over at the bottom near where the leak was. I assumed the water ran down that side gasket and into the interior. Did not think much about it until yesterday evening when we got some more hard rain which has continued all night. You guessed it, the leak was still occurring. Since the leak appeared to be coming from the top and running down I climbed the ladder to the roof with my rain gear on and discovered that the rubber seal on top of the slide was also not completely flipped. Water was finding its way to the top of the slide and running under the rubber gasket. I flipped the gasket by running my finger under it and reaching up under the topper.
I purchased some anti-slip tape last fall to apply to the slides to help the seals flip but have not gotten around to installing it yet. I was wondering if anyone has thought about installing a slide topper that is wider than the slide to keep the water away from the slide seals?
