I have seen several Montereys that I like, but do they also have the roadmaster S series Chassis in the 2006 and 2007 years? And do they have 8 airbags?

Just something to consider - Two years ago I met a guy with a 40 ft Patriot Thunder, hadn't known they existed prior to that. One thing I noticed was the AH exhaust came out RIGHT under the sewer hose, which is built in on the Patriot Thunder. Now I do find it a pretty handy system, but two years ago I had a problem where the AH exhaust melted my hose. I had just replaced it and thought it was because the new hose (a new material) had a lower melting point. On the 42 ft Patriot Thunder the AH exhaust exits 2 feet forward of the sewer hose, under the wet bay.
The people at Drain Master (great people, btw) thought I had a 40 ft and said there were problems with them melting the hose. They replaced the hose, but in my case I think it may have been my AH was running rich and the exhaust was super heated.
In any case, be aware that with the 40 ft you need to be very specific about how you route your sewer hose to avoid melting it with the AH exhaust.

Slide seals were not maintained and the roof sealant was let go way to long before resealing. Even though they are obviously old leaks there is minimal damage. I have not located the exact source for sure.

Mine exits after the wetbay (aft the wetbay). But it could have been modified by previous owner.
It seems silly that Beaver ran that exhaust pipe 40 feet. I think they could have just dumped it where the front slide out room ends and saved 20 feet of pipe. Where the generator exhaust exits would have been a good location. IMO

Well comparatively speaking, ours is an old lady. We have a 1997 Beaver Patriot 40' single slide and while it has some issues (22year old coach) we love it and it serves us well.

If you are shopping for a Patriot Thunder or Marquis , I would try to get the 2006 or 2007 model year. It has the 525 HP CAT engine WITHOUT the DPF/ARD emissions junk and is built on the Roadmaster S-series chassis (the best Roadmaster Chassis).
The 2004-05 Patriot and Marquis has the same engine but is built on the Roadmaster M-series chassis. Still a good chassis - so should not be a deal breaker.
Which ever model your looking at, you still want to stay with a model year earlier than 2007 so you don't the problems with the emissions components.
Here's a link to some Beaver Chassis "history" I put together https://1drv.ms/b/s!AtvAXw_lfqbTri6YP2LUMeRa-i6n

ummmm i've got a 2008 contessa with a 2006 c9- no emissions. may have been the only one ever built, but they may be out there. the po maintained it very well and i have tried to continue that trend. the only failures we have had that i don't consider to be maintenance would be the sink drain plumbing broke[about $300 including labor] and a aqua hot total failure[$10000 including labor]

And we have a 2000 Patriot Thunder with two slides which we love. FWIW someone in a previous post was asking about a 40' Thunder which is what ours is. It's powered by a CAT C-12 mated to an Allison 4000. 110k miles on the clock and still going strong.

Our Aqua Hot exits in the same place as Mikes. I think they ran the exhaust back there trying to avoid fumes coming in the coach. I use a 90 degree exhaust tip that I can slip on and point the exhaust away from hoses and power pedestals.

Why not have Aqua Hot exhaust exit next to Generator exhaust? That would save 30 feet of exhaust pipe. The generator is expected top be run while the coach is occupied and it exits in front of the left front tire.
Maybe the longer run of exhaust helps cool the gases. If I ever need to replace AH exhaust pipe, I'll look into routing out next to Generator pipe. Maybe it is not possible to route it there.

That's interesting. Our Aqua Hot is located next to the wet bay which is about 3/4 of the way aft. The exhaust runs about 3 feet back and then out the side under the wet bay.
So, is your Aqua Hot located near the front?
I also see your basement doors slide out with the slide out where ours are fixed.
That's a beautiful coach!

Yes.
My AquaHot is in the first bay curb side, the bay just rearward of the front right tire and the entry step.
AquaHot is on the "rear" side of front axle and generator is in "front" of front axle, so it may not have been possible to get the AquaHot exhaust to the same location as generator exhaust.
Sort of off topic. Sorry OP.

I like the Beaver coaches I have seen so far. But there is a problem, it seems that most, if not all Beavers only have two burner stoves in the galley. My wife wants 3-4, and that is why we are still looking at country Coach and Newmar.
