Anyone been to the Monaco Coburg Facility Lately
Hello, Headed to Eugene OR to get a new windshield for our motor home. I am going to Coach Glass to get the replacement done. Monaco was a little busy. I thought about stopping by Monaco to maybe take a tour and pick up a few items. Do they still have an area to park your RV.? Additionally, do you have to have a service appointment to park at the facility?
Thanks

Dave & Kathy -- Best place to stay close to Monaco, is Armitage County Park -- You can go on line & make reservations -- While in that area, tour Marathon Coach, across the street from Monaco -- Bill Willard

Dave,
I was there in Oct last year. Their hook up sites at the service building are generally full with service customers, but there is a big parking lot just next door at the main office/plant building where overnighting is allowed. There is also a big gravel lot across from the service building which belongs to Cummins and they allowed me to overnight there for 2 nights when the Monaco lot was being resurfaced.

We were there a couple of weeks ago on a Friday and went for a tour. They have daily tours at 2pm no appointment needed. The parking lot had lots of room to park in. We parked in the employee parking by the trees. Had lots of room for our 40 and 23 ft toy trailer. We drove over to the service lot after the tour and parked there while we went in to check a few things out. Not sure what the arrangement for parking there was but there were only a couple of rigs there.
Cheers

If you want to tour more than just Monaco (and Marathon), then as suggested, Armitage County Park is the place to stay. Last year it was $25 a night with FHU and cable. Wide spaces, with a good distance between sites. If you do decide to stay there you will have to make reservations at least 2 days ahead of your planed date - on-line. You can take your chances and just show up, but not recommended.
Happy trails.

Hey Chief Dave,
Almost wish we were back in Quartzite but guess we'll save it for when we really need warmer weather. We're still in the 50's for highs.
We were at Monaco in January. I think it's more a matter of having room than whether or not you have an appointment. If you do plan on staying there, they have water and 50 amp service. Cummins NW across the street also has water and 50 amp service and they have encouraged us to stay there any time there's room whether we had an appointment or not. In both places this is the busy time of year and space is likely to be limited.
The advice given on Lane County Armitage park is good. It's a great place to stay. If for some reason you have trouble finding room at any of the above places, there is a very nice commercial RV park on the other side of I-5 from Monaco called Premier RV Resorts. There is a Pacific Pride which is open to the public next to the Premier entrance and they have diesel for about as cheap as you'll find it in the area.
Need tires? Wyatt's in Eugene has Michelin at good prices and Bridgestone/Firestone are available at GCR just south of the I-5/Coburg exit. No sales tax and both outfits are motor home savvy.
Hope to see you and Kathy again in Q.
Best,

Thanks to all. We arrive today and asked the security guard, who said park over in the service lot with hook ups. Apparently it is first come, first serve. We are leaving early a.m. for our appointment at Coach Glass. Would like to stay there overnight just to make sure all caulking and seals dry good from the windshield replacement. We are going to Cummins to get our 500 hour checkup for the generator and plan to tour Monaco and pick up some parts. Dip Dave, Plan to get the socket for the grab bar light and install an LED bulb. Hope to get to the Q next year to see everyone.

Coach Glass replaced the shield in our 04 Imperial. They were reluctant to tell us it was OK to drive withing 6 hours of the job to allow the caulk to set properly. Question them about when it's safe to drive any distance. We left just before they locked their lot up, we could have stayed overnite but needed to get an early start so we went back out to Harrisburg to the Monaco service center to stay overnite.
I don't know if it has anything to do with it but we waited about 6 hrs to drive it and it leaks when driving in the rain. The first time we had it changed Coach Glass came out to the Harrisburg center to do the job and it had a chance to set for a couple of days before being moved more that a few feet in and out of the buildings.

We had our windshield replaced at the service center in Harrisburg, & they wouldn`t let us in the coach for 24 hours -- The put us up in a hotel overnight -- We`ve had no problems with the windshield in 3 years - Bill Willard

We spent the night at the Coach Glass facility and left early the next morning. Being a retired AF type we always waited 24 hours for everything to cure on an aircraft. Albeit, my motorhome has not been airborne as of yet, I will let you know after the first big rain. Additionally, they did not have to change the rubber seal when they installed the new glass. I am hoping for the best. I can say the employees at Coach Glass were professional and highly competent. I was glad I had them do the replacement than Monaco.

That might be a bad mistake...Martha and I did that tour when we went out to check on our Signature while it was being built....Made us wish that we had bought a Marathon instead of the Sig.....
