Good afternoon,
The rear closet in the bedroom in our motorhome has a rack for hanging clothes and thats it. I'm thinking of adding one of those closet organizers with arrangeable shelving to give it more versatility. My wife especially likes the idea of having someplace to store the shoes instead of just throwing them on the closet floor. Of course she has a lot more shoes then I though.
Only problem I see is mounting the support hardware on the back wall. Not sure I like the idea of putting screws in it.
Wondering if anyone on here has added anything like this?

Hi- I had some left over 1/4" oak plywood from kitchen cabinet changes I made, and made a shelf that is screwed across the back into the top carpeted step in the closet and has two cleats on both sides screwed into the cabinets. to make the sheet rigid and keep items from sliding out, I added a piece of 1"x1"oak in the front. The shelf holds all of my wife's shoes, my laptop case while my shoes go below on the remaining two carpeted steps. Works out great.

I did out of necessity. Bouncing down the road, the clothes rod sank in the middle from the weight of the clothes and pulled itself out of the plastic holders at it's ends. I Installed a center support bracket from closet floor up to and under the clothes rod, front to rear of closet, leaving room for the doors to slide clear. Placed screws into the rear wall for stabilization only. The weight of the clothes rod is now transferred to the floor. Purchased a canvas hanging shoe bag for CC's side of the closet and stabilized it with plastic wire wraps. She is now very happy to have shoe storage. Then we bought inexpensive stackable, plastic pull out drawers from Wal-Mart and stacked them two high on the closet floor, such that they reached just to the bottom of the clothes. There is room for 4 on each half of the closet with room for another 6" wide pair of stackables on my side for socks. Shoe bag precludes them on her side.
Further modified the drawers by running a bungie (buy a roll of 1/4" round bungie) along the front of the drawers so they do not vibrate open during travel and hang up the sliding doors.
The closet was the beginning of the 'blivet' for which the final product was named. There is definitely 300lbs of stuff in a 50lb closet!!!
This is a cheap fix, a few pieces of scrap pine lumber, a few screws and 8 el cheapo removable plastic storage drawers.

First, kudos to Monaco Mama, without whom this photo(if it shows up in this post) would not have been possible. Thanks Mama for your patience and guidance.
On the left side of photo is a vertical 1x6 attached at the floor with a purlin rrnning aft to attach to the back wall of closet at the floor.(next pic will show purlin)

As you can see from the photo album in the previous post, which I have no idea how I loaded, there is a cheap closet organizer...
I hope you have more luck with the project than I am having with posting pictures on this thread!

Duh!!!!!!!!
