anyone know how to bypass lp detector

My factory lop co detector under the sink died and I had to cut the red wire to make it shut up. That shuts down the lp at the tank so the stove does not work. I will not pay local 95.00 for a new one. I think I remember a temp fix to get lp back working and I have a stand alone lp/co detector so I am not worried I will replace it when i can get up to colaws and get a new one.

I am not sure what the fix is anyone know?

You need to supply 12 volts to the wire that goes to the shut off solenoid that is mounted next to the lp tank shut off valve. Do not use a wire from the full/empty gauge sending unit.

You can take the connection out at the tank and not have the detector at all!

With a voltage meter, you should be able to "jump" it out in the wiring that is behind the detector in the wall, find/locate the wire that is "Hot" (12VDC) and then find the wire that goes to the solenoid valve......shut off the power switch to the detector, and wire nut the 2 wires together, turn power back on.
