I searched the forum on this product and did not come up with anything so I thought I would put this out to see if anyone is using the Carefree Summit system.

The Summit is a Carefree product that is installed on the top of the slides under the toppers and takes the slack out of the toppers when the slide is extended and folds up when the slide is closed. I have heard that this was a standard feature on some of the Country Coaches and wanted to find out if anyone is or has used it and if they help with wind noise and rain.

Any information would be appriciated.

We have a Summit on our full wall slide.....pretty slick! It definitely adds a lot of additional support for the topper along the long, large surface area.

Thanks for the reply Mark. I am looking at installing this product and wanted to find out if users are happy and if they work as intended. My toppers flap in the wind, and in heavy rain I have to close the slides, PITA.

I definitely think you will find it will do the job for you. Adds a substantial tension and lift to the fabric when raining to prevent sagging and facilitate water runoff.

hardy1000....I looked at Carefree's site and looks like you have to buy the whole slide topper. Are they selling the Summit product separately so that it can be added to an older unit.

Hi Don,

I am going to call Carfree tomorrow and ask if the unit can be added to the existing topper and will post my findings after speaking with them. I am also taking my Dip to have the Norcold recall done on the 22nd and will speak to the dealer and ask them if they have ever installed one. My friends neighbor has had 2 Country Coaches and both came with the summit installed and never a problem with it.

Don,

Below is the email response from Carefree answering your question and a couple of mine. It comes with the topper.

Good morning and thank you for your email. Unfortunately, the lift bar system is not available as an upgrade to the slide toppers you have. The lift bars are only available on the Summit slide toppers.
Usually a dealer would install and order, it is a little difficult for DIY.
Carefree has a 72 hour turn around on all product, once we receive the purchase order through the dealers distributor.
The warranty is 1 year from the original owner’s date of purchase on hardware, and on the canopy from manufactures defects. A certified Carefree warranty dealer would file a warranty claim, and photos maybe needed when submitting these when dealing with fabric
Please visit www.carefreeofcolorado.com click dealer search to find a dealer in your area. You can search by zip code, or city and state.
Have a great day.
