I have a 2000 Monaco Dynasty. The electrical element quit working in the Aqua Hot. A suggestion that I found to fix it, is to reset the control board. But I cannot locate the control board. Does anybody know where it is located on this rig? Your kind help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Pat

In my Sig the "Control Board" is located on the overhead of the storage compartment just foward of the Aqua-Hot unit. Got to lay on my back and look up at it. On the board towards what would be towards the top in the middle is a small hole with RESET written next to it. If the Aqua-hot is turned on and the indicator lights on the board or not on then push a straightened out paper clip into the hole and hit the reset button. Anytime you disconnect or turnoff the main battery disconnect you will need to do this.

If you turn on the diesel Aqua-hot switch and the pump and blower fan do not start then this indicates the reset button needs resetting. If the diesel part works and the lectric heater does not then most likely the safety breaker has popped. You have to remove the outer cover like you are going to change the fuel nozzle and above the burner is a rectangal cover which you open up. There are three sensors in there. You have the float sensor the diesel burner over temp and the lectric heater over temp sensor. You will need to test the sesnor with no power on with a multimeter. If that checks good then I would suspect the electric element itself.

On our 04 Imperial it is located in the same compartment on the forward bulkhead as the AquaHot. As a side note I'd recommend using a toothpick broken off to form a broad end to reset it, I've had bad experiences with other devices (non-RV) using metal objects to reset them. I think mine has a breaker in the panel for the unit too, but I'd have to go check.

What is the model number of your Aqua-Hot. You will find it on a data plate on the outside of the Aqua-Hot unit.

Your Aqua-Hot model may not have an electronic control board.

Hi Roger, if there is no electronic control board then is there a reset function on the Aqua-Hot somewhere else?

My guess is that you have an Aqua-Hot model AHE-100-00S, which does not have an electronic control board.

I have written a troubleshooting guide for the electric side of you Aqua-Hot. In the files area (requires membership in the Yahoo Hydronic RV Heating group - link below).

Well I was close. 431/12 is one model prior to AHE-100-00S. Basically the same Aqua-Hot.

You do not have electronic control board and no "reset".

Electric system is pretty simple. Usually what usually fails is one of the two thermostats on the electric side.

More information and troubleshooting guide in group below.

Thanks Roger.

I follow your Yahoo Group religously. I'll look up the info. I just thought that I was missing something that was very basic.

Thanks to Rogers help I was able to locate my problem.

My electric heat element quit working. My Aqua-Hot does not have a control board to reset. Roger sent me a list of instructions to help me troubleshoot my problem. The problem was quickly narrowed down to a 12V relay that is activated by the Aqua Hot electrical switch in the kitchen. Now, my only problem was to find the relay. It was not in the usual place (kitchen sink area under the kick plate). I finally located it in the circuit breaker box in the bedroom. A crimp connector on the 110 VAC had fried itself and was no longer attached to the relay. Thank you all for your help, especially Roger.

I am now a happy camper.
