Aqua Hot (Electric) on Household Drop Cord?

So Colorado is dipping into the low to mid 20's for an 8 hour stretch looks like on Saturday night. My Dynasty is indoors in a large unheated building. I hate to winterize today as we are leaving next week and the weather in CO will be in the 60's-70's for weeks more.

My 30 amp storage plugin is not up and running yet in the building, so I just have a 120v heavy duty construction drop cord plugging into the coaches main power cord (with a simple 120v adapter to keep the batteries up, etc.)

Would I be crazy to try to turn the aqua hot "electric" on to circulate and get a little heat in the rig during this short cold snap with maybe a fan or two running? Might that under power the amps required and do any damage?

Thought I might give Aqua Hot a call on this since they are just down the street. Will report back the findings...

It depends on if your Aqua-Hot system has the single or dual electric element. The single element will draw approx. 12 amps so a 120 volt 20 amp circuit should be ample if nothing else is drawing on it.

If your unit has the dual element style it will not be adequate.

You are able to turn on only one element and only use the center zone and the wet bay and it should be just fine. Make sure the a/v stuff is off and the batteries are charged so the inverter/charger is not pulling power.

don 03 dynasty with aquahot and its 37 deg at 10 am in mn... 2 days till put in gear....

The biq problem is not keeping your unit warm it is keeping the Aqua Hot system from freezing. Is you unit full of water? Has the Aqua Hot been winterized? The water lines in the Auqa Hot are very small and freeze easily. They are copper and if they split you Aaqua Hot is junk. We sometimes have the same problem at this time of year but I am outside with a 50 Amp connection. If it is getting real cold I even fire up the diesel burner at night.

I don't think anything would freeze in that period of time inside a storage building. If I did anything I would put a small heater near the rv just to be safe.

I don't think you will have a problem using the Aquahot on 120V. Just make sure you turn off the electric element(s). Then the Aquahot will run on diesel.
The only electric draw will be from the pumps that pump the hot fluid to the coils and the fans that move air over the coils. Once it is up and running I would check the extension cord for overheating.

Can you take a look at your Alladin before and after you turn on your aquahot electric and see what the management system does? Are you pulling from 15A or 20A drop?

He is in a building I do not suggest runing the diesel in a building BAD idea.
