Aqua Hot question on 2007 Beaver

I am looking at a 2007 Beaver Patriot Thunder with Aqua Hot. Does the Aqua Hot system heat the floor or use some sort of "radiators"hidden in the living area? Cant find any detailed information in the brochures available on line.

I have a 2000 Sig with the AquaHot and what you are referring to is, at least in my coach, called the "furnace" heating option. The liquid in the AH, which is basically antifreeze, is heated in the tank then, if you choose to run the "furnace" on the thermostat, as opposed to the heat pump on your rooftop units, the liquid is circulated via hoses that run into the living area, galley and bedroom through heat exchangers where fans blow the radiant heat out through several registers located at floor level. It is a great option to running the heat pump when you are dealing with temps in the upper 30s and up at night that eventually rise during the day. If you are in an environment where temps are colder and stay low in the daytime hours, you might need to use the heat pumps in order to break the cold. My coach also has plumbing to the engine block to keep the block relatively warm in cold weather. It's a great option to have. It's quiet and provides a good subtle heat. We just got back from a trip where overnight temps were in the 30s rising to the mid 60s during the day and that's all we needed. We actually opened the windows mid-day for a little cool off. Hope this helps

My 2007 Country Coach has Aqua Hot so I suspect it is set up very similar to the Beaver. The Aqua Hot circulates with pumps heated boiler coolant to heat exchangers placed throughout the coach. The heat exchangers are basically small radiators with fans that blow the heated air into the coach. I have four heat exchangers in my coach and they are all mounted at floor level. My coach also has electric heating grids under the tile floor so I have heated floors, but that system is separate from the Aqua Hot.

Some newer coaches (Entegra for example) use the Aqua Hot system to also provide heat under the floors. Those systems not only pump the boiler fluid to the heat exchangers but also through tubing under the floor to provide heated floors.

Heat pumps quit working when the temps get into the mid 30's or so. Some higher, some lower depending on their setup and brand. At that point you need to turn on the burner in the AquaHot. Some have electric elements also that give a modest amount of heat. Mine is a 600D which has 2 - 2000 watt elements so I need to be on 50 amp site or run the generator to run both elements.
My floor heat is electric and seems to draw about 15 amps for each of the two sections.
I don't think I've even turned on the heat pumps since we bought the rig. I prefer the very quiet AquaHot.
Yep, mine is a power hog!!

Our Beaver has beautiful tile floors throughout, but alas, no raidant floor heat. If yours is like mine, you use the 5 button air conditioning control to use the aqua hot in 'furnace' mode. Look for floor registers in the toe kick-we have one in the bdrm (under the bed), one in the bath area, one in the kitchen, one under the fridge, and one up front between the driver and pass below the two drawers. The A/C control selects a/c or furnace when you choose the appropriate 'mode'. There are also at least 3 'zones', to direct heat or a/c. Took me awhile.
Enjoy your 2007!

Oh, and two aqua hot switches near the kitchen sink. To use the diesel 'furnace' or hot water, you must turn on the 'diesel' switch. To use the electric water heater function of the aqua hot, you hit the 'electric' switch next to it.

I have an 07 Dynasty. I ditto the previous responses. The exchangers in mine are rather inocuous. 3 of them are behind a solid wood panel with slots in them for the warm air to enter the coach at floor level. The one in the kitchen comes via 3 round vents with plastic directional vents. In order to use the AH, the zones (3 in my case) via the thermostats, must be set to furnace to use the AH in those zones.

Your AH should also have 2 internal buttons to run it on 110v and/or diesel. Diesel is for colder weather, or high hot water demand, such as long showers, doing dishes and laundry at the same time ect.
