Aquahot not working in "Zone 1"

Just posting this in case others have the same issue.

I went to check on my coach this weekend as the outside temps were getting down into the low 20s and I wanted to make sure the aquahot was set to keep pipes from freezing, etc and to install some electric backups. (I do keep it indoors)

I had heat in the rear bedroom and bath, but none in the front.

I recalled reading that the check valves can stick, so I verified that the demand for heat was being called by the fans kicking on and then went under the coach to look for the check valves.

After turning on all zones and feeling for the heat coming out of each pump, I determined the one I thought to be stuck, tapped the valve with a screw driver and hammer (lightly) and then jostled the tube a bit. Jostling the tube was enough to get the flow going again.

I then cycled the heat a few more times to verify function.

Just a heads up in case others have the same issue.

Thanks, that is a common problem because of the orientation of the check valves. If they had been installed horizontally then we would have no problems. Even if you go to the trouble of replacing them the new one will also stick. One of the biggest causes of these valves sticking shut is having a heavy ratio of boiler antifreeze to water. You might want to check that you have a 50/50 ratio.

Ditto on tapping check valve, just went thru same problem with front zone heaters, tapped check valve and all started working, then checked 50/50 mix.
