Actually, it looks to be about 85 degrees off.

OK all kidding aside, it's one thing to not know that they should be vertical, but if they're going to put it horizontally, you'd think they'd at least make it somewhat level.

Front one is horizontal. If I recall the rear is vertical but with slides in I can't see it. Will know within the week as we prepare to leave for FL.

BTW- Picture in owner's manual is horizontal

Good news Bob, you don't have to chug down two extra bottles of wine to send me corks. We had lunch at the Olive Garden today and the waitress said they had plenty of corks. She ask how many I needed and when I said two she seemed surprised that was all. Already have them installed.

We are in Florida as I write this at the Bay Bayou in Tampa. Has been cold but warmed up to 76 today.

Being of Italian decent, I prefer your method of getting corks.

At home in NH it "warmed" up to 40 but it's back to 16 now. We're heading to Clermont and looking forward to the warmer weather.

Great tip!! I checked mine and they were looped back into the hole like yours were. Drank a bottle of wine to get a cork, but then found that my 06 Ambassador had 1/2 inch holes that the wire came through - way too small for a wine cork, and its hard to shave those little devils down without them crumbling. A number 4 tapered cork (2 for 68 cents at Lowes) fit perfect. Thanks for sharing!!

Our front probe was stuck back into the tv cabinet (hot when tv on) but unfortunately it had a strap and screw holding it in place. Not to worry as we had just removed the 75 lb. "boat anchor" (TV) and the 25 lbs. of steel holding it in place in preparation for installation of a 32" lcd weighing 26 lbs.

How did the white end fit through the tiny vent slit or did you cut a hole?

The white end does not stick through the vent slits. I used silicone to fill the hole and let the white end stick out of the silicone. I then replaced the cover over the wire. Wire hangs down inside the hole and is covered by the vent cover.

Appoligize to SPA48. I did not read your previous post carefully.

I stuck a screwdriver through the vent to pry the hole large enough for the wire to stick through. Its hanging out about an inch now. Looks strange but its away from the outside wall now.
