Manuals seem to be missing for some of my a/v stuff, and the ones I have are pretty foggy.
It's an 08 front kitchen knight.
It has:
42" tv on the rear wall of the salon
Surround sound system in overhead above driver, video source selector there also, and a switch labelled "home theater / dash radio"
Dash radio, the original, what is it, magnadyne or something? CD / am-fm / weather / satelite.
The bedroom has the optional dvd player.
It has the optional auto satelite dish.
In the rearmost drivers side compartment there is a wall plate with 2 cable connections, one has a cable on it. There is also a loose male coax.
Where do I hook up the campground cable coax?
Why can I only hear the dash radio with the secret switch in "home theater"?
DVD's put into the home theater system play on the salon tv no matter which buttons are pushed on the video source selector. Sound comes out the home theater speakers, and I can no longer hear the dash radio at all.
Should the dash radio have a remote?
My owners manual shows one, but I haven't found it yet.
Does anyone have a wiring / cabling diagram or flowchart for this setup?
Is there a way to put the dash radio just thru a couple speakers up front while a movie is playing on the tv / surround sound system?
On the way home from florida my son was watching gilligans island. About 40 episodes. I still can't get that song out of my head.

JimM...can you also tell us what the componenets are? Monaco has been known to have different set-ups in the same model. I may have some info depending on what electronics you have.
PS...sorry about you having to hear of the 7 stranded castaways there on Gilligan's Isle ..

hmmm.... ok.
The dash radio is monaco's "normal dash radio", I think it was used in a lot of coaches. It does have the optional satelite receiver, which I would like to use. When I hit the satelite button, it displays a phone number and asks me to call sirrius. They will ask me for a radio number, how do I get the unit to tell me the radio number?
The home theater is an RCA six disk changer. I'd love a manual for this.
To the left of the home theater are 2 switches. A rocker labelled "dash radio / Home theater" When the switch is in "home theater" the dash radio plays through the home theater speaker, unless the TV or DVD is on, then that source takes over without me doing anything.
When that switch is in "dash radio" I can barely hear the dash radio thru something somewhere, if it is turned all the way up and it is dead silent in the coach. Road noise completely drowns it out.
Behind that switch is what I assume is your standard antenna amp control. It has a 12v lighter socket, a tv cable that's not connected to anything, and a pushbutton without an indicator light.
Oddly, the TV does recieve on air broadcasts from the antenna.
Behind the video selector is a massive tangle of wires. Some of them used to go into a satelite reciever I think. Behind the massive tangle of wires there is what I recognize to be a panel of cable connectors that come from the dish. That thing hanging down above the video source selector has a switch in it. When I move the switch, I hear stuck clanking around above my head, the dish moving I assume?
If anyone can shed any light on how this stuff was supposed to be connected together, that would be most helpful.

Thanks Ron. The componants themselves are not so hard to figure out, thank goodness.
I'm out there now, and have figured out a couple things.
The "home theater / dash radio" switch moves the entire speaker system from one source to another. I had it backwards above, when the switch is on dash radio, the radio comes thru loud and clear. On home theater, dvd movies come thru loud and clear. That "far far away" sound I was hearing is the bedroom speakers, they are on whenever the dash radio is on, and they are in fact far far away.
The video source did not appear to work becuse the dvd player connects to the TV on componant 1, you actually have to change input source on the TV to get the DVD. if the TV is on source "TV" it gets it's input from the video source switch.
I still haven't looked at that tangle of wires.
I still haven't figured out the antenna and amp.
I tried doing a channel setup on the tv, all I got was 1 analog polish channel. supposedly we went all digital a couple years back.
I think the main thing I need to do (besides figure this setup out) is add a pair of speakers in the overhead in front, and hook em up in such a way so the dash radio outputs to them at the same time the home theater outputs to the built in speakers.
Any help is appreciated.

Got this link from Wayne it may help you figure out what channels you should be getting based on location. Good luck. The Digital TV Transition: Reception Maps

Thanks Ron.
Still hoping someone comes up with some wiring diagrams, please?

oh boy! irv2 comes thru again.
Thank you John, that is exactly whay I was looking for. Now to put my reading glasses on and start eyeballing some wires!!
... later. Way cool. All I need to do now is find that speaker selector. I'll disconnect the feed to the bedroom speakers (which I'll never use, freaks out the wife) and run those to a pair of new speakers in the front overhead, which I'll be able to listen to while rolling down the road.
Anyone know where the subwoofer is located in a froint kitchen knight?
