Aux compressor not running

i have a 2001 Monace Executive with the HWH air bag system that also function as jacks. Recently when parked, and the system bleeds down, the aux compressor doesn't turn on at 90 psi like it's designed to. The system does work properly until the tanks run out. Does anyone know where the central control unit is located? From my research I noticed there is a fuse there, I am hoping that is the problem.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

When it was parked were the batteries turned on or off? You can test the air compressor by letting the air out of the tanks to below 90 psi then select any up arrow on the HWH panel and the compressor will be commanded to start then while somebody is holding the up button then go outside and listen for it. They are not very loud. Do you have the book for your system with the wiring diagrams and the troubleshooting data? Basically with somebody holding the command up button and the tanks below 90 psi you need to use a 12 v test light and see if the voltage is getting to the relay on the pump. On some models there is a inline fuse on the power wire going into the pump that is close to the pump.

Sorry I left out some info. I am a full timer. When we are parked at an RV park, like now, and I have the air leveling system set to automatically keep it level while living in the coach, the air pressure will drop to zero in a few days. If not on a level spot, we will tilt when the pressure drops because the system keeps adjusting the height and drains the tanks. As it does this, the commpressor doesn't turn on. I have found the troubleshooting manual online,

http://www.beamalarm.com/Documents/h...eshooting.html

it states to check the contol board lights and fuses. I am trying to locate the board, box and pump.

Thanks again, Tom.

Hi Tomdent
I had the same problem a few years ago. On my Imperial? Monaco's grand Idea was to mount the compressor behind and above the front Axel . Of course its out in the weather and unsealed. The motor seized up. Had to move it inside one of the compartments out of the weather. Works ok now. That may be your problem.

Tom, my control board with the LEDs is located in a basement compartment on the drivers side. It is actually attached to the overhead in the same compartment as my inverter. Mine stopped one time and would not work and I disconnected the plug to the compressor at the compressor and connected it back up and it started right away. Like I said if you are commanding up on one of the arrows on the contol box and the LEDs are on then take a 12 volt test lamp and check out that relay on the pump and see if it turns on on not. You will see the wire coming off the bigger post of the relay going to the compressor.

Here is the whole book from HWH

Some of those compressors are behind the front axles but mine is actually in front of the rear drive axle. So if you can't find it look in both places.

I think I found my problem. Is this the plate behind the front axle where the compressor should be? It has an air line that goes into the front tank and 12 volt power. I purchased this coach last July, and thought for sure the compressor was working, but it couldn't have. Any ideas where to find one of these units?

I got to laugh, thats amazing. Great job on finding the problem. Did you check in front of the drive axle also? You would probably have to get one from HWH unless you can find one at an RV salvage yard. Can you get hold of the previous owner and see if he has it laying around?

Tom.
Yep the mount looks just like mine.
You might ck Ebay. There was one on there last year. Also its not just the compressor you are missing. I believe there is a filter and a switch all hooked together on plate. But at least you found it.

It is all one unit which is the water separator, the compressor, the relay, the pressure switch and the compressor air filter. It is all mounted on one tray/holder. Checked and nothing on Ebay. Google RV Salvage yards and a lot of places come up. I would check the previous owner first. It is probably easier to fix the old one that get another one.

Mike, thanks for checking. The coach was a repo, same owner since new until me. Trying to find info on them in Tulsa.

Called Colaw RV salvage in MO, but I will google and try more.

Thanks again.

Found a list of salvage yards online, started with AL and worked my way through. Wow, alot of them have closed. Got to KY and found my jem, a complete ready to bolt on unit. On the way now. They also had another piece I was looking for. They have pics online of the coaches they are parting. Seems like a good place with some Monaco's still open.
