I purchased a new 05 in 9/06 from Todd's in western NC. They have been the dealer from **** once coach was pulled off their property. Any suggestions to a dealer who wants business in this area? Love coach even with all it's missing parts. Plan on trip to Wildwood at end of 10/06. Great help from posts concerning Wildwood. I don't want to waste time but if anyone wants more detail to problems with Todd's please contact me.

Welcome to iRV2, we're really glad to have you here as a new member and are looking forward to reading your posts about your RVing experiences and adventures. You'll find a great bunch of folks on this site who are very knowledgeable of RVing, the rigs we use, and the places we go in them.

As you'll see, they're eager to help and share their knowledge and experiences with others.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience with Todd's RV, I hope it works out for you. Tom Johnson's Camping Center in Marion, NC has a good reputation in this area, maybe they could help you with your service needs.

Again, welcome to iRV2, we're glad you joined.

004349, welcome to iRV2.com. Sorry to hear of the problems you have been having. Have you conmtacted the manufacturer about the problems on the coach and with the dealer? You may want to; they may workd out the repairs with even a non authorized service center if not change the attitude and desire of your selling dealer. We hope you get the issues resolved and that you will keep us posted as to the progress being made. Good luck and stay safe.

004349 -

As others have already said: "Welcome to our forum". Good place to be, and lots of good folks. Just holler if you want to become a Monaco-Forum member, and I'll make it happen.

Sorry your problems are what brought you here though I hope they get resolved soon.

Like Mike said, Monaco does a great job of working directly with owners, especially if things start going sour with a dealer. I'm sure you're keeping a record of what's happened, been done (or not done) and who said what, helps a lot. Oh, and tough as it seems sometimes (I've been there too!), we gotta remember they'e just people too, so a calm, cool, collected attitude works wonders.... usually.

You mentioned Wildwood, good call. They're good, and helpful. We'll be there mid-November, and hopefully you'll already be gone, but would be good to say "hi" if you're in the area. Have you contacted them already? I hear they get busy quick.

Let us know how it goes!
Ron

Like all the others stated, "welcome to IRV2" which is a great RV forum.
We are very surprised to hear about you having a problem, with Todd's RV & Marine. I have a Winnebago and Todd's has treated me real fine especially Phil Brown the service manager. In fact I bought my coach in Iowa and when no one wanted to service coach Todd's did. I can say nothing but that I have high regards for Todd's and maybe you hit them on a bad day as we sometimes have.
Phil Brown I think is a top notch Service Manager and his crew is also good. In fact I live 2 hours away from them and they even offered me a plug (AC) to stay over night while they work on RV.
I think you should reconsider and give them another chance.
One dealer I WOULD bash is Flecher Chevy as a Workhorse dealer they stink.
Again Welcome and hope you get problems solved.

Welcome to IRV2. As suggested above, contact the manufacturer and express your concerns to them. Be sure and docu, ent who you spoke with and when. Follow up to each person with a letter confirming the conversation....Just in case you need the documentation.

The manufacturer may suggest another dealer to use or let you use different local dealer.

the ongoing sage... thanks everyone for all the suggestions and support. Hope no one else has to deal with this. Corporate office so far has been telling us we have to deal with Todd's since they created the problems. One of those cases of if I knew then what I know now. One issue of concern is what happens when I need warranty work done and the dealer says to us " the serial numbers do not match what is suppose to be on this coach". The answer we get is don't worry we'll take care of it. But no one is willing to put that is writing. Does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. It does not seem that other forum members have dealt with this type of problem. I also don't feel Monaco has much control over their dealers. Monaco is not willing to address the way be have been treated at Todd's since we brought the problems to Monaco's attention. The mechanics at Todd's have been great all problem's at management level. Since management writes the paychecks the service department can only go so far.

You are right that Monaco - or any other RV manufacturer - has little or no control over their dealers. The dealers are their direct customers - dealers buy RVs and sell them as they see fit - and short of pulling their franchise (a last resort) there is essentially nothoing Monaco can do.

You didn't mention the sort of problems you have, but it does not sound like a Monaco warranty problem. If the dealer made promises you feel he did not fulfill, it really is between you and the dealer. If there is something wrong with the product, then Monaco - or another authorized dealer - can help.

As for matching serial numbers to the original build sheet, I find it hard to believe the issue would ever even come up. Register your appliance warranties with the appliance manufacturer and if they do not reject the registration, you should be covered by the appliance warranty. If in doubt, contact he appliance manufacturer and ask if they care about build serial numbers. I doubt if they even know what serial go put in what coach. Or care, as long as it was new when installed.

What Monaco calls the "coach data sheet" doesn't exactly match what is on my coach either, but when you combine it with the "window sticker," you can see the options that were added. For instance, the data sheet for my '00 Diplomat says it has a 275hp Cummins ISB engine, but in fact it was ordered with the 315hp ISC option. Who knows why the data sheet wasn't updated.
