There are 2 thermocouples that work with the aladden system. They sense the temp inside & outside. My thermocouples have become inaccurate. Does anybody know where to get new tc's? Or recalibrate the existing ones?

I had my outside temp quit working, and called Monaco about a replacement. The bad news is that they no longer have any of them, but are working to get replacement parts for all the Alladin components.

I found a replacement thermister on E-bay, they are a 10K ohm at ambient. The cost for a package was about $8.00 delivered to my door.

I don't know of any way to calibrate them, how far off are they??

The data I have says that at 68-77*F the thermister should read 10,000 ohms. That is a pretty wide temp window but I guess it falls within the internal Aladdin calibration parameters. There is no way for us to get into that internal calibration for the temp sensors. Both my outside and bay temps appear to be on a average of about 10* high. The problem is the location of these two sensors. The bay sensor is located within the fresh water tank area so with a full tank of water that temp is not going to change very fast as the outside temp changes because that 100 gallons of water is not going to change its temp that fast. The idea behind it is to really tell you if the bay which includes the water tank is close to freezing or not. My data says the outside air sensor is located in the forward generator compartment above the generator against the firewall next to the AC plenum. So if the generator is running or the sun is shining on the front of the MH the temp is going to read high. One of these days I am actually going to find the sensor and put a checking thermometer next to it. Has anyone actually seen the outside temp sensor? Beaver had a better idea and put the sensor inside the big mirrors. If I can find it and it actually proves to read correct but the location is wrong then I am going to try a better location.

Dennis, how many of those thermisters are in that package found on Ebay? If with the new sensor the temp reads high then you should be able to calibrate it closer by putting a small resistor in series with it. Then change the resistance until it is close. If it reads low then you would have to put the resistor in parallel with the sensor and it would be a lot highr restinace resistor. Since mine temps don't seem that accurate you playing with that Ebay thermister will probably be more accurate.

my outside sensor is located in the propane tank compartment which is open to the outside temp. they appear to be off about 10 degrees. i have not found the inside t. c. but the Monaco tech said it was located in the pass. side most forward comp.

I think there were 40 of the thermistors in the package, 20 small disks radial lead models like the original, and 20 glass axial lead versions. I had to search thru quite a few of them to get one that was close to the correct value at ambient temps. I just installed the replacement, and it seems to be within about 2 degrees of another outside temp sensor.

My "bay temp" sensor appears to be located in the center tunnel area in the front compartment, and the "outside temp" sensor is located just above the fuel tank on the curb side, this is also where my comapss/temperature modue is located.

I was wrong on where I got the thermistors, here is a link to where I got them. Pack of 40 10K 25C Epoxy Coated Glass Rods Thermistors | Virtual Village - US

Dennis which type did you end up using the radial or the axial lead type? I wonder if the thermisters that Monaco used age out over time.

Mike
I used the3 radial lead models, that's what the originals were, and they seemed to be more accurite than the glass axial ones.
