Basement Door Latch Adjustment?

The latch on one of doors to the large pass thru storage compartment on my coach seems to be out of alignment - such that anything that may "flex" the coach frame/body is enough to unlatch the door. So far it hasn't been a problem while driving - however, I find that I must re-latch and relock it every time I put the slides in and out.

Having briefly looked at it - what I might do to adjust it isn't jumping out at me.

Anybody have experience with this that might be able to point me in a direction?

Thanks!

I think our sister coaches are similar...

a couple of ways to adjust either the latch loop
or the door itself...

first find out what is wrong... is the latch loop out of alignment or the door swing?
either crawl in the basement with a flashlight and close the door so you can watch it close
or mark up the latch loop/lock area with something that will show you where it meets when closing...

On mine, the latch loop (on the chassis that the door latches to) can be moved all for directions by loosening the bolts...

the door swing can be adjusted by SLIGHTLY loosening the hinge bolts and tweaking the door...

be careful because that movement will make the 'lines' of the door out of alignment with the other doors and/or make it hit the other door...

here's a bad pic of the latch loop:

John - thank you for the suggestion! I think I'll try the "crawl in the basement approach - and see what I can see. I didn't think to examine the door fit lines when it's closed. If that's not square, may simply be that the door has shifted/settled some.

Make sure the other side is open or you have a helper

Yeah ... that thought definitely crossed my mind! An opportunity to lock me in the basement might just be more temptation than my DW could resist!

Had this problem with a few of my latches when we first got our coach. I had to take the metal loop out and bend the loop part inward a little on 3-4 of the doors. No Problems since then

In addition, I had 2 of my latches slid in the door ever so slightly. I move the actual latch and all was well. Had to replace the rubber gasket on one that kept moving as it was cut clean through (allowing it to move more freely).
