I would test using a self tapping screw and see how it does. I bought some at Lowes that weren't the quad drive type, they weren't beefy enough to drill/drive in so I ended up drilling first. Maybe you have a better screw.

Also, I painted my trim before installing on the coach, you might consider doing this to avoid having to paint after installation.

Thanks Jim. It seems like the screws aren't quite up to going through everything. As for the paint, the original was white just like the new.

Got the new hinge rails mounted and they fit perfectly!!!

I'm having one of the body pieces painted while it is off.

Quick question...the body pieces over the front and rear axles had some "black foam" on the inside of them. It looks like a sound deadening material.

Any suggestions on what to re-spray these panels with to replace this stuff?

Mine also has a sprayed on undercoating but I've never redone any of it.

I looked on a couple of posts and one suggested this,

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rl...FYSQHwodEFwEbQ

Summit also has this on Ebay if you have an account already.

I did use a closed cell type weather proofing foam sealant to seal the front and back openings at the front and back of the RV where the wires go. It cut down on the amount of dirt I was seeing in the basement compartments.

If you use the Rust-Oleum let me know how it does.

Got the repainted body part back from my friend, the painter. So far I'm into this project for a grand total of $400. Not bad for replacing the hinge rail on the curb side of the coach and having the body panel above the front axle repainted.

Sure it's taken some time, but I know this would have been close to $2k at any RV dealer. Money we can spend on diesel my friends!!

Glad to hear you are making progress, my guess it would have cost more the $2K for the repair.

Did you look at the link to the undercoating that I posted?

I think mine would have been +$7k since a repair shop would have wanted to remove the outer trim on the slide, probably 2 pieces. They would have also cringed at using a piece from a salvage yard. This would have required more labor and material.

Got the entire coach put back together. Here's a picture of the freshly painted front fender.
