Wonder if anyone else has seen this.
When I plug in on shore power, the battery boost relay in the battery compartment latches on and stays "on" until I unplug from shore power. When I'm not plugged in, the relay operates normally - you can hear the clunking sound when I press the batt boost switch.
The wiring schematic from Monaco shows this to be a simple circuit getting a switched +12VDC from the front panel through the batt boost switch, right back to the relay. No electronics or solid state stuff to act up.
When the relay was latched, I disconnected the ground momentarily to drop the relay and when I reconnected it, the +12VDC on the relay was gone.
On paper, this is too simple a circuit to be acting like this and I'm afraid I'm gonna have an overheat situation when plugged in. Any ideas anyone?

Is your MH set up to charge the chassis batteries when plugged in? They may be why the relay is latching so it can charge those batteries too. I know some Monacos were set up that way. My 07 isn't, but maybe being an 09 it maybe.

My 09 charges the chassis battery when plugged into a 50 amp shore plug. The coach has a inteli-power 9200 series charge wizard that has 4 modes: Boost 14.4v, normal 13.6v, storage 13.2 and desulfation 14.4v burst for 15min in a 21 hour period. Monitoring the voltage at the engine control service plug it reads 13.2 to 14.2 volt per the Scanguage II.

Hi,
That solenoid is really a problematic part. I repaired mine twice in two years. Inside contacts are easy to corrode. Sand/clean it down and lube with di-electric compound. Next time, i'm gonna buy a different brand from napa or make it manually. Tnx.
