Battery Question

I had 4 new Interstate GC2 Deep Cycle Extreme 6 volt installed in this 2004 Monaco Camelot in late Feb. Number 1 battery seems to get hotter than the other 3. I have had to put water in it twice since installed. The other 3 have stayed at normal levels. I keep the coach plugged in 24/7 to my RV box at 50 amps. I don't turn off the two main switches above the batters. My Xantrex RC7 reads 100% most of the time.

Question: Am I doing something wrong or do I possibly have either a problem with the charging system or possibly a bad battery?

Thank you in advance for your input.

Battery going bad or the wiring needs to be moved to balance the battery load.

If the installer did not make a mistake with the connections it is most likely you have one bad battery. But I would check the connections first. If alls well there have the batteries load tested.

You did not say what the charging voltage is when you are plugged in. It should be around 13.5 to 13.7 VDC when on float.

Take pictures of the connections and post them.

Maybe you should switch that battery with one of the others, and see if the problem follows the battery.

I don't see anything wrong with your connections. I think a load test is in order.

You didn't say what your charge rate is. Do you have a Voltmeter to check voltage at the batteries?

You could move the temperature sensor to the hot battery . That should reduce the output voltage of the charger. Your connections all look good and properly done. Check the voltage on each battery . It's possible the battery in series with the hot one could be the problem.

What is the yellow wire with the red crimped end, on the lower right + battery post ?

Is that a battery temperature sensor or are we assuming it is ?

Twin boat: That yellow wire runs up into the box above the batteries that has slide out relays and solar electronics and is spliced into a group of other wires. I have no idea what it’s purpose is, but would love to know.
