Bay heating system

Need advise the on the bay heating system with the Aqua hot system
This will be our 1st winter in the cold climates.
We have a 2009 Holiday Rambler Scepter 42 PDQ and the manual States to have the
AquaHot in the on position.Do I need to have the electric only or the diesel burner?
Does the bay heater work from freezing up or do I need to add a light bulb also
Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you physically seen the heat exchanger in the wet bay? It was an option. Mine never came with one !
Anyway, electric element should be sufficient to keep anything from freezing in there. Don't know if it has it's own thermostat, or is a 4th zone on the inside thermostat.

No need for a light bulb or auxiliary heater in there.
The AH needs to be on, electric or diesel.
I am not positive, but I believe you need to have over of the thermostats inside turned on (usually the case when it is that cold anyway).
There is a snap disc in the wet bay that will activate at a predetermined temp, that will turn on the exchanger. You Can test the snap disc by spraying it with the canned dusting spray (gets cold).
I have never rested ours, but Everytime we have been subfreezing, the basement and wet bay are warm.
But like 96 Wideglide said, assure you actually have one. Ours is visible from outside, with a flashlight.

Believe yours may be set up like mine, Aquahot on, elec or diesel. Some have adjustable T-Stats in the basement area. Mine has a fixed disc that turns the heat exchanger in the bay on about 42 deg. Also I have a basement temperature readout on 1 of my Aladdin screens.

My AquaHot system has a small heating core in the wet bay on the passenger side. There is a thermostat also in that area that has an adjustment. Connected to that is a heat probe to measure the temp. If you also have this style, you can use that probe to test the system. Turn the AquaHot on (either electric or diesel). Place that heat probe in a glass of ice water. The fan in the heating core should come on.

I have thermostat in wet bay but haven't seen/found heater core as of yet either . I have not had it through a winter yet. I can get low cost enclosed heater with duct tubes, but would do no good without the zone pump unless tied into a running zone and used separate thermostat for fan in bay . I do get some free/passive heat from aqua-hot itself for sure. If i was heating interior it would be a decent amount. It's in between wet bay and electrical .
