Thumbs up Beaver, Beaver, Beaver, can't get Her outta my Head !!!

Hello Monaco World & People !!!

My name is ---nota___ (none of the above) and I have been researching and looking for a Quality Coach to do some Full Time Living and Traveling in till we cant walk up the step(s) to get inside.

My wife and I are in our mid 50's and have a 40 to 60k budget with a champagne taste for the Beaver Marquis or Patriot Thunder with the Caterpillar C12 Diesel engine.

What fuel mileage do these C12 Beaver Coaches Average?

What type of problems should we be aware of in our price range?

Thanks in Advance !!!

I avg. around 7 miles to the gallon according to the on-board computer.
The problem will be finding one that someone is willing to give up!!
Of course, I'm a little prejudiced in the case of Beavers, I love mine and wouldn't think of trading it. I haven't seen anything new that even comes close. At least nothing under 600K, maybe not then.

I have an '06 Patriot Thunder with C13, gets around 6.5 right now, used to get low 7's but I did an upgrade to the software and it killed the mileage.

I can tell you that $60k wouldn't buy mine. Couldn't replace it for twice that.

Thanks for the quick replies, have been watching rvtrader, rvt, craigslist and ebay.

Looks like my wife and I need to take a trip out to Bend Oregon or Texas to find a Beaver Marquis. Have seen a couple Thunders for sale near Michigan but they sold pretty quick.

Been keeping my eye on dealer auctions also as I have connections to people in the automotive industry. Hoping a few of these coaches show up in my dealer auction searches. They only run RV auctions once a month at various automotive dealer auctions.

Beware of eastern rigs with extensive road salt damage / rust.

Beaver went Bust !!! Bought a older Monaco Crown Royal instead

The Beaver Fever went Bust as I couldn't find a Marquise without cloudy piano finish problems that seems to attack the water based clear coat.

So I tried to find a Patriot Thunder that was Loved

Looked at a few PT Beavers all priced way to high for their condition. Every one had lack of Love or Maintenance issues and Dis-honest owners who would say anything to sell their POS unloved coach.

Bought a well Loved 1994 Monaco Crown Royal Signature Series from an Honest Man who wasn't afraid to get dirty and spend a few bucks to upgrade his Toys.

Thanks Paul !!!

Except the bottles are not big enough as they tend to evaporate at a pretty fast rate.

Now if I could just talk my better half into a new quilt for the bed.

If you are worried about fuel mileage, maybe an RV isn't for you? In my eyes, they are like Jeeps. They get what they get. You are either OK with it or not. It doesn't make sense to buy something so large and expensive and worry about fuel mileage.

Of course this is all tongue in cheek, but you know what I mean.
